Yeah seemed obvious after about 20 mins. Really well executed. Had sheaf not made that mistake maybe we win. That said they had some good chances after equalised so draw is fair
Armstrong was very wasteful for them I thought.

Really good, entertaining game. Nearly a bit of a smash and grab based on all their possession but thought we looked dangerous all night and played some lovely stuff on the break.

Wright scores…let’s get onto simms…standard SBT. Thought he worked really hard tonight and was a handlful occupying both centre halves. Wright also looked very good tonight.

ps anyone questioning Eccles when be came on might as well start watching netball. He was excellent. Should’ve been on 10-15 mins earlier

Ive done a total 180 on Wright and Simms.

Simms just so frustrating, his first touch is always awful and he wastes so many good opportunities, should have had two easy chances first half but couldn’t control the ball. Just no faith when it goes to him that anything will happen.

Good result and performance. Sakamoto Ohare Van Ewijk will cause any team problems. Wright and Simms let's just breathe a little and let them bed in, both hot and cold which surely anybody in their right mind expects from 2 young forwards, no need to jump on them all tbe time. Simms occupied the defenders well was a very tough task for him tonight, he did well.

Agreed Steve, stick with Simms and give him time. People are desperate for him to fail.

His pace stretches defences and allows players like O’Hare , Saka and Palmer to play in the space it creates

That’s why I wouldn’t criticise Simms that much he was playing to instructions, he’s a big fella with strength but first touch really lets him down.

How anybody can say Eccles was ‘excellent’ or ‘outstanding’ tonight is beyond me!

He was ok, but as has been said on here earlier the only thing I can remember him doing is hitting the first man from an awful corner.

He’s ok, maybe just above average, and coming on with only a handful of minutes to go gives him the edge and will make him look better because he’s fresher - bear in mind he also didn’t have 90 minutes against Blues.

He doesn’t stand out, he’s nothing special and we need better if we’re serious about getting promoted, end of.

Nothing against the lad, he’s ok and can do a job, and he’s a good option from the bench but he isn’t going to be playing for a top six (or any position to be fair) premier league team any time soon!

None of the subs were on long enough but you could quickly see that they were justified.

Apologies - just joined this thread now after arriving home so not aware of any (thoroughly deserved) criticism that may well have already been voiced, but does anybody else think that Sheaf is dog shit?
Awful tonight, indifferent against blues and dropping material against Ipswich.
Priority upgrade in January me thinks.
Downside obviously that there's a song that needs to be binned.

Yes I agree the subs were justified, and I’m not arguing about that - I think Eccles brought energy and fresh legs when he came on, O’Hare and Allen were lagging - all the subs definitely helped.

I’m just confused at what people saw to say he was amazing, he didn’t really do anything - unless I missed it?

I saw things differently re Simms.

I thought he had a decent game in a difficult role. If people were expecting him to waste his energy chasing between two competent ball playing CB’s then that’s mental.

He held it up well 9/10, he showed bursts of pace running with the ball and was involved in some good build up play.

He was often a focal point and played an isolated role well enough.

His touch let’s him down at times and towards the end he made a few odd decisions, but he’s getting there and I strongly believe he’ll come good.

Actually, I didn’t mean to like this post, because he’s not dog shit, but he’s often got a misplaced pass in him, almost looks to casual. Needs to be more clinical.

I'm starting to think I was wrong about Eccles maybe I missed some stuff I just thought he did OK in comparison to Allen having a poor game but maybe I'm wrong! I do think Eccles has been decent this year but wouldn't have called him out for a lot of praise today

Might be stretching it a little here and obviously one for those a little older, but Simms is the Tommy English to Wright's Gary Thompson.

Being very honest the best performing sub was Palmer who appeared much more energetic and moved the ball nicely. Split the defence very well to put Sheaf in

He added a physicality that was lacking and he provides a vital cog on the right , it was no surprise that Van Ewijk and Sakamoto were a lot more dangerous in the last 15 minutes
