Hopefully he has kept them for a double training session today and worked hard on the silly mistakes before the game against Orient.

Hopefully it will pay off!

This season and last has been a series of silly mistakes and poor marking that has led to goals given away.

The only conclusion is that the players aren't good enough.

When was the last time we truly looked solid at the back over a number of games?

Under Boothroyd! Every one said it was crap but at the start of the season was so strong mainly down to the fact Ben and Cameron were so good at the back! IF big IF Ben hadnt got injuried we would have finished the season in the top half!

How far away does that feel now......

We should have sold Craine last summer instead of Ben, but Thorn knows best :-/ .......

what confuses me is that every manager says we look good in training but can't do it on the pitch..well to me its bleeding obvious.. the reason we look good in training is that we are playing against ourselves...and everybody looks good against us.. so we probably looked twice as good today;)

It goes something like this.

'You see your team mate in the Blue shirt over there....... pass it to him, not the guy behind him with a different coloured bib on. One you have passed, move into a postion to make yourself available'. 'Got it?' ................................

'errrrrrrrr, Gaffer, what colour shirt is it again I hoof the ball at?........ & do I run or walk when I move into space cause im a bit worn out cause weve been here since 10am & it's nearly 11.10am?'

:(

Lets hope the players don't look tired on Saturday or Robins will get slammed for the double training session...

It has to be Asked!
"With the hardening attitude of the manager, and the extra training session, is a dressing room showdown on the horizon
it would appear that the honeymoon period is over, and serious questions are being asked of players and manager alike, with the season Three months old, results are as worrying as they have ever been under whatever manager, and a solution is as elusive as ever, we have had domination of teams for periods in matches, but not cashed in on our chances, whilst on top, How long before Robins blows his stack Big Time, a split dressing room is not what we need at this moment in time.

January is coming and I expect big changes. I reckon we will field no more than 2 of last seasons squad in any 1 match once Robins has had a fiddle in the transfer market.

So whats your answer? I fully agree that the honeymoon period is over and it was always in this time where Robins will be tested, however over the last few years we have had, a settled management period under Coleman, ultimately they underperformed.

Boothroyd was a tough taskmaster, got them very fit and demanded lots from them, ultimately they stopped playing for him, before he was removed we went on a very long run of defeats.

Thorn provided a a very relaxed atmosphere, it was a disaster.

Robins looks as though he is going to work them......

For me its up to the board to back Robins and not sack him after 6 months, results may get worse but he needs to be able to get rid of the prevailing attitude at the club of taking the easy route.

I agree that we need stability, but if in 5 months we're loooking at Div 4 the Implosion will see wholesale ejections in our club,he has stated 2-3 times now he will get the time but that time will be driven by results.

Sounds like he might be trying to get them double training so they can play both halves !

The thing with this argument always baffles me .There a very few select teams capable of dominating match after match for a whole ninety minutes ,we're not in that group and are unlikely to be anytime soon ,however 50-60-70 would be something to aim for.

his honeymoon period may be over but hes still left with thorns players apart from the few he brought in i think this season is to finish above mid table at best then let him bring in his own players from the end of the season

Work the little twonks into the ground. The ones who can man it keep their job and will become fit enough to compete properly in matches. The ones who spit the dummy and sulk get shown the door in January.

There is ability there.

I can't believe AT RS Carsley MR between them have signed 14 players not good enough to go up.

On top of what we already kept

The question is how do you get them to perform

Love the way you are now lumping Robins' signings in with thorns.

Thorn signed poor players no argument there and unsuited for a promotion campaign.

Robins has made emergency loans as sticking plaster - he cannot be judged until he has the opportunity to remove most of thorns deadbeats and replace them with players suited to the task in hand.

I agree our problem is we never put teams to the sword when we are on top and we always collapse when we are put under pressure from the opposition

If Robins does get tough with the players and some of them don't like it then fine, they can be moved out shipped out, whatever.
we need to be tough with them as they are clearly under performing.
Players like McSheffrey should be in the team and playing to a decent level.

Mark Robins has showed already that there is no room for sentiment by getting shot of Richard Shaw from his coaching team and I believe that will happen with some of the players come January.

"Pull ya socks up or piss off" would be my message to the players at the moment.

A half wit can understand how to stay in the position you were told to play and concentrate for hours never mind 90 minutes

What about the argument that these players may have performed for AT and three games was not long enough to find out.

You can judge Robin's signings. He signed them as he believed they will improve the squad. Otherwise he would not have signed them.

If they don't perform and don't improve the team they are bad signings.

Grouping the signings together was to make the point that AT, MR, RS have signed the 14 players we have.

They can't be all bad players, the three managers understand football.

Our side before the signings would have been in the position it is today.

Even if you say everyone AT signed is rubbish and you take MR and RS signings alone that is 5 extra players.

This squad is capable of and should put a very good run together.

MR is a good manager he should be able to do it with these lot.
