Player of the Season so far (3 Viewers)

It’s good news we’re having this debate with so many different names in the mix - shows the in depth strength of the team. Also nice to see the mentions for the new signings- MVE, Kitching, Saka as examples. Shows that the recruitment had a vague idea. There’s not one team in the world in which all signings are an instant success and we sometimes forget that.

Most improved player for me has to be Thomas.. thanks, in part, to the understanding with Kitching. Thomas looked like a liability prior to their partnership.

Kitching is shaping up to be the best signing we’ve made in a long time. A leader and future captain.

Saka for his positivity, energy and tricks.

And.. although it’s early, O'Hare has come back better than before and in just a few games has demonstrated that he’s not only our best midfielder, he’s our best player by far.

I think COH is currently a slightly different player to the player he was prior to his injury. His end product is better, he looks stronger but he’s missing that zip and acceleration that used to take him past players. Hopefully they will return as his fitness improves.

Agree with that, still think he's not at his sharpest but it's still very early days in his comeback

Sakamoto has improved the most imo.

He looked good in for short spells early on in the season, but has now got used to the pace and physicality of the championship, and his stamina is far better now.

Playing this system has suited him and he's linking up well with MVE.

Our improved form came as a result of a change in formation, the solidity of Kitching and reintroduction of Bidwell.
So for me it's between Kitching and Bidwell.

MVE for me, but nany contenders. In fact arguably anyone bar the forwards and that's not having a pop at them as done OK, just a little below expectations. Improving all the time though and Wright had a hand in all 3 yesterday.

Have to agree with some here. First thought was at least 6 names. Kitching and Thomas at the back. Collins has come in and done very well. MvE and Saka are monsters on that right side. Wright has improved incredibly over the last 4-5 games.

Names that do stand out are Eccles who I'd nominate for "Most Improved Player" and CoH for "Teammate I'd least like to roomshare with as he'd keep me up all night with his energy and enthusiasm". Can remember at the start of the season, members of the forum were down about Hamer leaving and not being thrilled at Eccles being in midfield. Shows how far he's come that we hardly mention Hamer now. He's not a Hamer replacement (and not a corner taker ;) ) but the role he plays, he is currently excelling at.

No standouts so far for me. Collins has come in and done well, but if he continues in the same vein till the end of the season, he could well win it. Kitching didn’t get to play until recently and like Collins, has a chance to be POTS. Thomas seems to have improved after some shambolic spells at the start. Wright is improving. COH’s arrival has galvanized the team and he has contributed with goals. Sheaf has the habit of making a suicidal pass that leads to a goal for the opposition, although he does the other bits fairly well. Still needs to score more. Allen has been hit or miss. Bidwell has probably been our most consistent performer since he got a chance. Simms needs to score- 2 goals at the halfway mark is not good enough. Otherwise Godden will get the starting spot back. Saka and MVE are starting to form a good partnership.
