Christmas questions....who has had more of an impact in Championship football for Ctfc....Simms or Biamou?

Didn't know either played for Cheltenham Town

Dumb question. Biamou didn't play long at this level but he scored some crackers and some important goals. 5 goals in total. Simms hasn't even had a full season yet so you can't compare. Almost like comparing a fully iced gateaux with a table full of ingredients.

You can’t make analogies like that in front of a fat guy

Plays so much better on the left hand side...looked so good first half.

As soon as he went central can't hold it up..but I do see positives.

He's not a target man.
Might be a good idea not to call one of our players a useless c**t again no?

£7+ million player apparently. Saka cost us a hell of a lot less and is twice as effective with everything he does. We’ve been had, we really have

Yet godden works hard and doesn’t get mentioned how poor he’s been
Godden didn’t even cost us £1 million, was bought in to do a job and score the goals to get us promoted to the championship. He has repaid us twice over and some, he owes us nothing.

Really stepped up

proving me wrong, fair play to him, deserves a lot of praise recently
He has stepped up big time. Made me look silly to compare him to Bakayoko...

In saying all that he still has a long way to go before he justifies his price tag.

Think we are starting to realise he's a different player when he plays on the left...cutting inside.

Still concerning how he looks a bit lost when played centrally...Simms is so much better in that role.

Wright has contributed to more goals this season than any of our other players (6 goals, 4 assists).

He still needs to improve but he is at least contributing to the team and there is currently nobody better in the squad for his role on the left.

There seems to be a sudden " Wright doesn't score but his contribution is immense so that's all that matters " love -in.
He didn't score today . He missed an absolute sitter . Hardly worth 7 million.

Not a single person is suggesting he's worth 7.7m.

But at least he's showing signs that there's a good player in there somewhere. Il be first to admit he's not as crap as thought he was.

Fair play to you for that as well

He was poor and looked lost but is steadily improving in the new system and as a key member of the squad

A tale of two halves for Haji today, first half good. 2nd half he fell away and wasn't so good.

He had a steady game overall and received a positive reaction from the crowd.
I think you are right. He is doing well, but that transfer fee is always going to work against him. The improvement is good to see, and I think he can hit some pretty decent numbers if he carries on like this. I can see the fans starting to turn in the right direction with him also, which is good.

I alluded to this in another post, but I think the Wright transfer fee is also giving shade to Simms. If we had only signed him for 3.5 million (rising) - which is a lot on its own, the output would be more concentrated on. I think we may be seeing more questions being asked.
That's a good thing. Being negative c**ts about players doesn't improve anything.

I'm glad Simms has some kind of protection, he'll come good in the end. Throwing him to the wolves and trying to strip the confidence he does have will only make it worse.

2nd half he moved into the centre in place of Simms as welll. He is much better playing on the left and driving into the box.

First half he looked really good, like the player we hoped he would be - fast, strong, direct, skilful.

Second half he was poor, but he looked knackered. He wasn't the only one - we might need to see a bit of rotation over the next few games to give some tired legs a rest.

I think that is true in all positions. Some players have played a lot in recent weeks. The problem is we don't have any forwards apart from Wright scoring or setting up goals unless you count Sakamoto, and I suspect he may need a rest too.

lol nah…people are never wrong. Wrights just “changed his attitude“, just like COH one day decided to just “add end product to his game”.

Idiots
What still amazes me is the amount of people that spend so much time on here and never learn anything.

Every season is the same. We sign a new player. The player has a slow start. That makes him shite and a waste of money. But they don't consider anything else like different systems, not knowing how their team mates play and where they prefer the ball to be played or even their fitness levels when they join. Or how about leaving friends and family behind and start a new life sometimes thousands of miles away like Sakamoto and Wright.

They need to consider the times they changed jobs. Did they hit the ground running on their first day or did it take time to settle in and learn the job. When I started my last job I was put in charge of an area in the plant. It was what looked an easy job. But after 3 months I nearly resigned because I didn't have a clue what was going on. It got very frustrating. But slowly I learned my role. After about another year the job was a doddle. I went from not knowing how to fix half the problems because I didn't know how they worked to being classed as a specialist in the area. That was when a machine had been down for 4 days. All those experienced in the area tried to fix it. I turned up on a Sunday morning, saw what was happening and made a very slight adjustment. It worked straight away. Took less than a minute.

My predictions stay the same. Playoffs this season then challenge near the top of the table next season if we don't go up. Would anyone like to take a guess on how many players who finished the last game of last season were on the pitch at the end of the last game? I'll save you looking. 0. Then some wonder why we had a slow start. Games we dominated yet lost from a rare attack. Now our players know where each other will run and how they prefer to play.

But it is so easy to call someone shite then admit they were wrong and be happy they underestimated the players. Happens every season. Then you have those who keep up with someone being shite when they're not. We even have someone who seems to thrive on our bad runs so he can have a go at Robins and say he has taken us as far as his ability will let him. Yet name a Championship side that wouldn't want him as their replacement manager.

Rant over.

Here's to an exciting second half of the season. Too late to get second. That should go to Southampton or Leeds. We're 13th in the table but just 3 points from 6th. Could be top 6 in a few weeks. All we have to do is keep this run up. The other sides have to play each other as well as 2nd, 3rd and 4th like we have just done. And the lower down clubs nearly all have the same problem. No quality up front. I can see a fair few clean sheets coming. And with Sakamoto, O'Hare and Wright having such a good understanding already we will terrorise their defences. We now have the best GD out of every side below 5th.

If that missing ingredient in central midfield is added who knows. Lati, Eccles and Sheaf are all perfectly good holding players but when asked to pull off expansive Hamer type passes do struggle.

Clarke from Sunderland would be my choice of an extra midfielder. He is carrying their side. Think it is 11 goals so far with not a lot of help from others. They don't even have a proper striker. Can you imagine a player like him with O'Hare, Sakamoto and Wright? Sides wouldn't be able to put a few players on him or it would give our other players space.
