Just reading the messages about young Quirke and got me thinking how may other Coventry orv Warwickshire born players we have missed out on. I just think that someone who was brought up in the area may give that little extra if he played for his home club team. Marcus Hall is a prime example, not the greatest player and often lacked pace but he always gave 100% when he played.

Can anyone else think of any locally born players?

Another one is Scott Garner, let go by Coventry at 16, joined Leicester and is now captain of England C and Cambridge at aged 22. I know not a great level but he must have something and would be even better if he was playing for his home City.

Macca is past it and probably knows that, wish he would use his head and accept he cannot run past players anymore.

Dan Nardiello was Coventry born. He had a pretty handy spell when at Barnsley a few years ago If I remember. There was a rumour going around once he was coming back, but nothing ever came of it. Think he's at Rotherham now.

I know he was a youth product but unsure if he was born in the area.

Scotts mum is one of my mums best mates! David Holdsworth (remember him) took him firstly to Ilkeston Town and then to Mansfield Town before moving to Grimsby and joined Cambridge in the summer! He was a promising player but never got a chance on the big stage!
