Can recommend the couch to 5k app. i used it after a couple of breaks in running it was a great helpI went out for a run yesterday having not done so at all in 23. Bloody hard work, did about 1k with 3 walking breaks.
I'm really starting at the bottom again it feels.
Thanks, I reckon I'm just gonna do a bit though. I'm good at pushing myself and increasing the fitness when other people struggle. It's all in the mindCan recommend the couch to 5k app. i used it after a couple of breaks in running it was a great help

How are you recovering Daz?I went for a run today tripped up on a kerb landed on the ground, can’t take a deep breath in so damaged ribs . One good thing is my ankle and foot were fine
I’m ok mate thanks for asking was just a bit uncomfortable, it eased off today so I did just over 4.5miles not bad considering I’ve been on the lash most of the weekend and yesterdayHow are you recovering Daz?
Maybe look on the website of some local running clubs. Most of them will have a race diary listing lots of local runs that you won't always find on sites like FindaRace.Tempted to sign up to the Leicestershire Half on Feb 25th.
Ideally I’d like another organised race before them, preferably a half but also open to 10k. I’ve checked FindaRace and can’t see much, anyone got any recommendations for races or other sites to check?

It depends how far you want to travel.
I use sientries.co.uk although it is more biased towards fell/trial/orienteering. However you can filter it to road races and geographical area.
I'd just throw a few google searches in there as well, "half marathon UK February" and so forth, you're sure to find something.
See I wouldn’t call myself a trail or fell runner by any stretch, however the majority of my longer routes will be cross country/bridal paths etc so all sorts of terrain. I prefer it to so running around streets.
Worth giving one a go?
Warwick half is Feb 4th. I’m doing it as my first half

You'll also get road races on that site..... i was just pointing out that the majority of races on there will be trail/fell, along with a lot of cycling as well.
Trail races/events are decent, and worth a go. Fell is a different kettle of fish altogether and comes with additional considerations (having to carry "emergency kit", potential of needing to navigate on longer races, not to mention the specific strains of climbing and descending).
I'll with-hold my detailed personal thoughts on trail races, as i'm probably in the minority with my views.
Cheers - I saw those too. I was just after a view of whether it’s worth giving a trail race a go / what are they like? No worries if you don’t want to share though obviously.
Well done mateFirst half done this morning. Fairly up and down course in Warwick (although I don’t have any others to compare it to). Happy with just under 1 hour 53 mins
