What would represent us playing a 2nd string this weekend? We have 16/17 players rotating in and out of the team, plus 3 or 4 regularly unused on the bench. Do we have a truly 2nd string line up?

Robins will will use this as an opportunity to rest players like Tatsu, Milan and Haji and give some of the players that have dropped out since the change of shape a run out in the new system.

Wilson will start surely. Good to keep him in the fold.

If we are persisting with the Ayari loan then he has to start or what's the point.

Then players like Simms, Dasilva, Lati, Palmer and Binks who are in the main squad but need game time.

I think he'll stick 433 and go:

Wilson
Lati McFadzean Binks Dasilva
Eccles Kelly Ayari
Simms Godden Palmer

As mentioned earlier in the thread Oxford are likely rest seeing as they are in a fight for promotion

Changes will come i expect, opportunity to get minutes back into:
Wilson
Lati
Fadz
Dasilva
Kelly
Ayari (although if we send him back wouldnt bother!)
allen
Palmer
Godden

I'd give Simms a run too to see if he bag a goal and some confidence

Wonder if it’s worth giving Simms a game playing off the wing to see if that fits him more naturally than the tricky central role. He’s looked quite threatening when he has had he ball out wide and might do some damage with Godden/another striker pulling some defenders away.

Not really sure how we approach this one. I think a good chunk of rotation will be seen.

Wright's upturn in form on the left has been interesting. I'd like to see Simms there for a game.

Discuss the Coventry City - Oxford United [FA] match, tactics and predictions :)

I just hope Mark Robins doesn't make too many changes, don't want another Wrexham on our hands.

Some people saying we should rest players, have they forgotten what happened to our form after the international break's, NO keep the momentum going, they have 6 days before the Oxford game anyway.

I'm all for having a cup run, but we're had a tough Xmas schedule including 2 trips to the North East. We have a bigger and better squad this season, so can still put out a team that should beat Oxford.
Wilson For Collins
I'd play Binks as Kitching is sure to be back in against Leicester.
Fadz for Thomas
Lati for MVE
Dasilva for Bidwell
Kelly for Sheaf
Palmer for O'Hare
Tavares for Sakamoto
Play Godden and let Simms play out wide.

We should start our best team apart from a couple of changes for players who need a rest (like we did vs Swansea), try and get a solid lead and change the team from a position of strength rather than when were chasing the game with the crowd panicking! One thing we don't need is a replay!

Robins came out and owned the result vs Wrexham and I hope he has learned from that. If we win and draw a decent premiership club at home it could be worth a million pounds in ticket sales and that alone could mean we can offer 7k more per week to COH over 3 years!

Would like to see Marcel Hillsner given a go but probably needs more time.
I’d personally bring Bigi and George Thomas back for this one.

Is there still this rule where you have to start 5 of the players from the last league game?
Wasn’t that the rule in the JPT? I don’t recall it being used in the FA cup.

Today is Tuesday, the match is Saturday morning. Where do you get 6 days from?

They played on Monday and will have another 7 days before they play Leicester.

So if a player doesn't play against Oxford, that's 12 days without a game, which is just like the international break's.

It would be a complete waste to risk losing this game. To get through it may gain us a tie against a prem team which would show us a lot about then our best 11.

The team that started against Swansea at home apart from Wright should be good enough to get through.

Think we'll see a number of changes due to the number of games in a short period. Could prove a disaster as we're used to seeing but hopefully not.

Wilson
Lati Fadz Binks JD
Eccles Sheaf Allen
Tavares Godden Palmer

Collins, Thomas, MVE, Bidwell, O'Hare, Rus, Saka, Wright, Simms
