I don’t really want a loan I like players that are ours, goalkeeper maybe to cover an injury.
I don’t think Robins is too keen on loans either.

or how good O'Hare has looked, and Palmer being on it. Takes some pressure off goals from midfield. Latibeaudiere being a decent back up as well. Gives us time to find the ideal no. 8 now or in the summer. Do need a body in the middle now, though. If Sheaf or Eccles gets injured, I'd be worried.
Definitely agree , with Callum and Kasey in form and playing just behind Simms it negates the desperate need for a number 8 . We are in need of a better ball player behind them though

Also with Binks if we're playing 4 at the back then dominant foot is not so much of an issue. With 3 CBs you ideally want the left CB to be left footed. But with 2 CBs it doesn't really matter if they're both left or right footed.

So Binks isn't just competing for one spot with Kitching, he's competing with Thomas too and would be a great permanent squad member.

better to have a left footed lcb in a 4 though as it means the passing lanes at are available are slightly better

think of the natural curve of a ball played by a left footed player out to a lb, lcm or lw , it curves left to right meaning it curves forward into their paths

if a right footed player makes the same pass it curves left to right meaning it is slightly behind the recipient a lot of the time slowing play down and making them check back

this is why managers want a lf and rf combo even in a back 4

We need atleast three CBs We have Thomas, Kitching & Binks, plus McFadz for the rest of the season and Joel L who can played there.
If Robins was to sign a CB it would probably be a player good enough to go into the first team.

I think that would be a quest for the end of season when we know what division we are in.

What if Kitching got injured? You need quality backup
Will he be happy to come as a back up to Kitching? He’s ok but he’s 22 I can’t see him developing that much and he won’t come cheap. Thomas and Kitching are here for the next few years you’d think. Id want any centre back we splash out on to offer something different with the potential to be better than Kitching Thomas. That isn’t Binks for me.

Binks is quality, he oozes class for me. He can defend, can pass and will only get better

You can’t know how a player is going to progress at the age of 22

Game of opinions, I haven’t seen enough from him so far that I’d be willing to pay the money id imagine they would want. I think we could get better.

Wouldn’t better cost more ?
We are slowly building a very competitive squad and the more depth we can add to it is only beneficial to the squad . Plus he is of an age where he could potentially have a bigger sell on in the future

Well then the right footer just starts it further in front of the LB!

It's far more important in a 3 than a 4.

and then you give the opposition a better chance of intercepting the pass as you start the ball closer them

also a right footed pass naturally takes that ball wider meaning it is less dangerous

this is not something I have made up, it's modern football tactics

Perhaps the change of system has changed who we are looking to sign
Yes, they've had to change the data inputted into the new scouting algorithm that we brought a few weeks back. Only problem is, Doug won't splash out for decent internet so by the time it's crunched the numbers, our targets have moved elsewhere.....

I know people are suggesting another centre half , midfield cover etc , but has any of you taken a good hard look at Lats , as he covers so many positions & is quality. He hardly puts a foot wrong & at only 24 , we have signed another gem
I think the fact he plays in unglamorous positions on the pitch makes him go under the radar. Been very solid this year.

Yeah been a great signing, I was dismissive of him playing in midfield but he’s very good in that holding role.

Why are people still talking about Brekalo?

We’ve got Thomas, Lati, Binks, Kitching and Fadz, 5 people for just two spots…

It was a tedious link at best, not going to happen and we don’t need him.

Binks is only a loan
This will be Fadz last season and if we can get Brekalo it allows us to potentially let Fadz go out and get games if that’s what he wants
As Brekalo’s season over there has ended, it would be the ideal time for a snatch and grab. With him just coming back from injury it gives us time to bed him in.

That way Lati can be back up for Kitching and Thomas could be back up for Thomas next season.

Four fantastic centre backs vying for 2… possibly 3 spots.

Just because a back 5 didn’t work this season with the players we have right now doesn’t mean next season with the right players we ‘might’ go back to a back 5… Robins is just playing with the hand he’s been dealt

*edited, I was trying to respond to you Tea & Busquets… the last Aussie was that keeper Lawrence Thomas who was around the reserves… I don’t even know if he was a signed player or just trialing for a considerable amount of time
