I hope there's at least 5000 home fans there, and along with the majority, I'll be buying my ticket on the day. Not wasting my time making a trip over to the Ricoh separately if they're not going to be sold out on the day.

I'll be taking my nephews to their first Cov match. The eldest has been to watch the bagshite with his dad so I've gotta try and convert him :).

Just a fact that you and the other 5000 can ignore if like and my 27 years as a season ticket holder does make me a real supporter so thanks for noticing.

The fact that Black60sprey called a Coventry City FA Cup match a 'non event' speaks volumes for the problem our football team faces. You ought to be ashamed to talk of 'your' team in that way. What kind of 27 seasons long support is that? What kind of hope do Coventry City FC have with that kind of talk? I just wonder how many on here are actually going to the game. I'm very critical of our so called supporters and the way they don't turn up - they are a major part of the problem.

Coundon, I'd like the ones that don't turn up to - turn up. And support their team. Not a lot to ask is it? You are either a supporter or you are not. Calling a Coventry city match a 'non event' is a hanging offence in my book. This wishy washy attitude to 'supporting' the team is a major problem for Coventry City.

CJ, did I say that? Did I mention Chelsea? Though support of that size would be terrific - what a message a big crowd would send out about Coventry City and their supporters - that they cared and were behind their team. Fat chance of that - fact is thousands don't care - unless of course Chelsea or a 'big team' come to town. We have some some really crap 'supporters.' (With apologies to the die hards, who I salute).
And Nick, £10 a bit much?! What you want, they pay you to come in?

When I completed the form to renew our season tickets this year there is a box on the form to tick to "automatically issue tickets for all home cup games", which I did. Our ST's are in the Telegraph stand.

A very nice lady phoned me last week to say that they were not opening the Telegraph stand for this Saturday so where would I like to sit? I said the Lloyds Pharmacy stand instead. Then she phoned back again and said that wasn't open either, so Tesco's stand it is then. So looks like they are only opening the one stand for home supporters.

We have now received paper tickets for the game. At a fiver each for concessions think that's good value.

This is a very simple way of making sure we get our tickets for all cup games and we don't have to make a trip to the Ricoh to pick them up or anything.

Wish id chose that option too! Its a right pain having to go up for tickets. Fortunately this one ill be able to pay on the gate (i too sit in CET so wouldn't be able to have my own seat anyway)

What attendance do you think would be reasonable then. (& by reasonable I mean what any other team in the league 1 relegation zone would get against a Sunday league team)

Well said. £10 is the going rate for league matches at arleseys level. Nobody can seriously question this as being too much for tomorrow.

I think this should be one match that City fans try and get to. Its the FA Cup for a start, something dear to all of us. Its very cheap to attend, especially if you are taking a couple of youngsters and there is a realistically good chance of seeing a few City goals. The side needs a confidence booster and the club could do with the extra revenue. Cash on the gate means most will walk up. I predict a crowd of 6-7k and a good win.

So you're implying really that anyone who claims to support CCFC should attend every single match, home and away, presumably including pre-season friendlies?

In a recession (when people have to watch the pennies), in the run-up to Christmas when people are spending money elsewhere, IT IS A BIG ASK to expect people to turn up for every game we play. Especially when we are all too often "rewarded" by inept, passion-less performances.

You seem to imply that nobody has a right to call themselves a fan unless they go to every single game we play. Are fans not allowed t pick and choose which games they go to, if they can't afford to go each week or if they have family commitments etc?

Anybody who implies that you MUST go to football games clearly has no other priorities in their life.

It is THESE kind of "fans" who drive others away. What these "fans" don't appreciate, is that unless thecasual fans come back on a fairly regular basis, htere simply won't be a club for the "fans" to support!

Who would want to go to a match, if they get such abuse for doing so!

Oh dear, what a ridiculous post !! You missed the whole point of his rant, which was aimed at so-called supporters calling the game a 'Non event'. We beat these {Arlesey} and then another easy side and we could get a very valuable money spinning tie to a big club. It is these events that will prolong the life of the club !

Err, only partly true Ashdown. Yes he did miss the point (although my post was not a "rant") - I was making just the same argument as psgm1, by saying it is unfair of people to criticise fans for not going every single week.

For financial reasons (I live in Scunthorpe) I am unable to attend games these days. I subscribe to Skyblue World, I listen to live commentary every week and City shirt with pride. Does that make me a non-supporter?
