This team will be better than the 22/23 team (2 Viewers)

Said a lot of very silly things about this team at the start of the season which obviously looks very stupid now. I know I have a bit of a rep on here for being very negative and I know I can get very caught up in the heat of the moment when things aren’t going well, but my 2024 SBT New Year’s resolution is to be more positive so please hold me to that.

Fair play to Evo, Fernando and the others who saw the potential in this team early doors, you lads had a blinder. This is a squad that is going places and will only get better. Premier League here we come.

Was going to post something similar. I never bought in to the ludicrous negativity on here from people who really can't judge players or see the big picture, and I bloody love this team.
I'd go even further now and say that I bloody love this team* more than any we've had outside the top flight.

I said at the start of the season we'd be nowhere near the relegation zone and have maintained we will just miss out on the playoffs but I'm starting to think I have been pessimistic!

And my favourite thing of all these last few weeks? Saka's perfect little balls.

Torp would have been impressed. Hope he now realizes what levels he needs to reach, does so quickly and integrates into the fold. COH agreeing terms will also be a massive shot in the arm.

I completely agree we’ve upgraded in lots of positions both in what you’d call starters and depth. We’re certainly better at RB and CB in terms of Kitching who is pure class. I think you have to aggregate “attack” and I’d say Sakamoto, Wright and Simms equal Gyokeres and Hamer. But then you have good depth through Collins, Lati and Dasilva. Then there is Torp.

I think we also have to factor in the quality in this division is so much higher this season IMO , some serious money thrown about and some serious players and teams in the league .

Leeds , saints and Leicester better than the 3 that went up , and the 3 that came up from league 1 , well 1 of them is really good ..

Teams like Hull, West brom, boro and City and Sunderland all strong

Teams like Norwich and Watford with obvious quality .

5 points better off after 27 games ..

We're one stupid free-kick vs Swansea away from 6 wins in a row in all comps. Played Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Leicester in that.

To be fair , some of the games earlier in the season where we just couldn't score , we could just as easily be sat above west brom right now

I think what happened needed to happen for Robins to fall on this far superior formation. We threw away some horrendous points but its all good.

Leicester first game and West Brom at home come to mind immediately.

Rotherham was a shit show aswell that we should have won - 9 dropped points right there

As a draw always feels like a defeat to me, I’m enjoying the current form.
Depends how it comes. A point is a point but if we're behind and draw it feels like a win, if we're ahead and draw it feels like a loss, but I'd always rather score first. If we'd come out 1-1 today I think it would've still been positive round here now.

I’ve watched Cov for over 60 years and this squad has the potential of being the best and that’s counting 34 years in the top division, it isn’t the best team…..yet but as a squad we have 18 players a lot inter-interchangeable and the team is just as strong.
And it will improve.
We will improve too, money to spend plus four loan spots.
The potential is tremendous.

If only we didn’t concede against Swansea we’d be sitting a lot more comfortably in 5th running away from the rest
