There’s a post on there commenting on the lack of diversity in their supporters at the ground. This is very different to our fan base - one of the things I like is how the Sky Blues have a truly multi- cultural following.Positive action
Horrified and depressed by events at yesterday’s game - not to mention some of the ‘debate’ (there isn’t one to be had) afterwards - I want to take a proactive role in helping our club cleanse itself of racist and homophobic abuse from the stands. I know lots of others feel the same way. In that ...www.owlstalk.co.uk

80% of Sheffield pop in the last census is white, so that’s very much going to be the case.Sheffield is a great and multicultural city but their support was very white yesterday.
Is it that low - seems higher80% of Sheffield pop in the last census is white, so that’s very much going to be the case.
As opposed to Coventry that is far more diverse at 65% white population.
Not that any of this matters, but it shouldn’t come as a shock.

I see a lot, lot more black and Asian fans at the CBS than I saw supporting Wednesday yesterday.Do we? Not so sure.
Do we? Not so sure.
No, I am sorry but I don't agree.I like the ideas from Wednesday fans about the clubs coming together.
Singing songs that suggest all Wednesday fans are racist isn't right, especially when we've had similar incidents from our fans.
Both sets coming together to leave rivalries aside for a few minutes would be positive and sends our a powerful message.
No, I am sorry but I don't agree.
When have we monkey chanted opposition players?

I am trying to think of when we have been accused of racism. There was that accusation that turned out to be a misunderstanding against a Fulham fan but can't think of anything else.was just about to ask the same….
if you’re on about the banner then yes, it’s not a very nice situation but as far as I heard there was nothing else at the match, no whole stand chanting, no references to it, no players targeted etc…
wouldn’t compare the two here, although both disgusting
It was quite a shock when I moved up here how white it was compared with Coventry. My workplace was 99% white.Sheffield is a great and multicultural city but their support was very white yesterday.

Is it?That's not what the conversations about. It's about how diverse the support is.
You could have a support that's 100% white and not be racist.
I think pusbccfc post is pretty accurate though.
Is it?
I am referencing this part Clint "Singing songs that suggest all Wednesday fans are racist isn't right, especially when we've had similar incidents from our fans."
That is not about how diverse our fans, it is saying we have had similar incidents to yesterday and I am asking when they were as I don't recall them.
My initial response was to malcsb saying we have a 'truly multicultural fanbase'.
I responded I'm not so sure we do.
That doesn't mean Im implying we have a racism problem in the fanbase
That wasn't the same, that was one fan who was arrested and kicked out.Wasn't a fan arrested in the Stoke game last year for racially abusing one of their players?
I've heard comments before. I know people who have had comments thrown at them too.
I'd like our fans to take an anti-racist approach rather than fully targeting the Wednesday fan base.
the question wasn’t to you….
You quoted me in your post so I assumed you were talking to meMy initial response was to malcsb saying we have a 'truly multicultural fanbase'.

Then your post made no sense, sorry about that.I was!
Then your post made no sense, sorry about that.
I repeat I was just asking someone to provide an example of what they had stated. Which is perfectly valid no matter what the original conversation was about.
yes I know, but I was simply asking for an example something a poster had stated.Re-read from malcsb post, 123, on the previous page.
If you still can't grasp whats going on then I'll leave you to it.
I put some instructions further back in the threadOnly listened to the game as was trying to fix a leak at my lads house but sounds like Kasey was having a good game. We all have shouted at players at some point, particularly the opposition when they are on top, but no excuse for them to react in this way. Seeing it on the news brings some hope that it's been highlighted so much it will be taken seriously. Would hope Kasey plays on Friday and the whole place give him some support but the shame is while the twat in question will probably be banned or prosecuted, it won't change or educate his mates or likeminded people.
Sour end to what sounded a great performance, with Sheaf leading the way. On that note,, anyone else having this issue when trying to watch the game back on iFollow?

Go to the icon in the bottom right corner right click and go to Avast shield control select disable for 10 minutes and try connecting to the site. If you get it working go the same route and put shields back on

Yeah, I understand we were talking about the diversity of the city fanbase as I was one of the first to start talking bout this but I simply asked another poster to clarify a point he had made.@clint van damme, both me and @Cheylesmore ITK made the same point and both to another poster, NOT YOU!
we both said that we disagree with @pusbccfc saying we have had similar incidents, and Cheylesmore asked for examples.
It doesn’t require reading back through reams of posts, it’s fairly simple, and you seem to have not grasped what’s going on rather than anybody else…
I’ll simplify it - what are these incidents we have been involved in that are similar to the incident yesterday?
