£5m up front, £6m if they go up but we keep him on loan until the end of the season.

Yeah he revealed a kit colour or sponsor months before it happened a few years back and he revealed us going back to the ricoh as it was then, this was years and years ago.

@WestEndAgro you're the guy I'm thinking of right?
Fair enough but I'd say we are not letting O'Hare go without a replacement being in the door and ready to go.

Also I can't find a non clickbait source that says Southampton are bidding anything.

We don’t have quality through the side that’s deluded. We have players we own over last year yes. Once we loose creativity we are bang average. If we sell Ohare and the inevitable happens when palmer gets injured mid table.
Deluded?

Last season we were carried by 2 players. This season is different unless you're trying to say O'Hare is doing the same now. Yes we would miss him but not as much as you're trying to make out. And now we have Torp. When he is up to speed he is going to be some player.

We were never going to find a 'like for like' replacement for Gyokeres or Hamer. We won't find one for O'Hare either. But we're finding other players that offer something different. Did you see the Torp corners? Did you see the Torp goal? Will most probably become our dead ball specialist. Something we haven't had for years. Most of our players like to get forward. A few games ago we had over 70 passes leading up to a goal other than a touch from a defender. That's something special.

Or we keep him don't go up and lose 15 million to sign replacements.
It makes far more sense for the player to sign for nothing for a team definitely in the top flight rather than for big money right now and still end up in this division.

Ohare carries the team in a sense yes, from being mid table in to in the playoffs. If we loose him or palmer who odds are will get injured we are just an average team. It’s not the end of the world but you lose the chance to go up which is what it’s all about.

Gus Hamer wasn't bad from set pieces.

heard it mentioned that Southampton are where he’s off to and it’s going to be January. I’ve never been told anything before but the lad is not a blagger so it’s made me think there might be something in it. Personally I just can’t see it being Jan!!

We've just had a £9m bid turned down, so pretty sure we don't desperately need £3m more, plus the chance of the jackpot of £100m+ if we win the play-offs.
Surely we need to hold on to him as long as we can for the best outcome for us both?
I am told that this “ offer “ wasn’t as plain as we are led to believe, so as much as it would be fantastic for our club to offer such a huge amount, I don’t believe we ever did .

Depends how much someone wants him. Come to an agreement with all sides now and the player is yours. Wait until the end of the season and you join a list of clubs that would be interested.

He wasn't. But what we have to consider is it was his first game for us. Still finding his feet. We won't see the best of him until next season. But them corners he took on his debut were something else. Different each time yet nearly all of them found our player.

Thing is if he waits he can go to a wider range of clubs knowing what level he’s playing at for a full season, plus all the trimmings of a free signing in terms of wages and signing on fees.

He’s guaranteed first team in a Championship promotion contender and can pick his club if we don’t go up (or even if we do), there’s nothing in it for him to sign for anyone right now.
Depends what somebody offers him now though. There's nothing stopping somebody offering what he wants to avoid the lottery of fighting with everybody else in a few months.

Gyokeres and Hamer carried us last season. This season has been much more of a team effort.

Sakamoto, Wright, Sheaf and of course O’Hare have been match winners in recent weeks.

That’s the figure being talked about with Southampton…… if we get that it’s a case of…. Off you go Cal!!!
Whatever we get would be added to the near 15m we still have from the sales of Gyokeres and Hamer. When you consider this squad has cost just over 20m and we would have about the same again or more it makes me even more excited for next season 😃
