He didn't actually say that. He said fans shouldn't be glued to the telly waiting for last minute deals. Then he was asked if that meant no incomings at all and he said "oh no, never say never". Pretty sure he's just downplaying expectations

Why would we be making any deal for Fadz to leave? He's an ageing reserve defender whose contract is near up, and he wants to find a club at a good level for first team football. He won't exactly be makeweight for Gallagher, Dolan, or anybody else we fancy!

Why the delay? It only takes me a few seconds to make something up.
It's almost as if the scouting team did nothing until January and then discovered a winger in the last 24 hours when Bobb decided he'd rather play in a top of the table premiership side than for Coventry.
