Aren’t the refs under directives to let the game flow or something? Basically let these ‘little’ fouls go unpunished?

As an aside, do not get me started on throw ins!
The refs may been told that but some of the tackles I have recently where play has carried on should at least been a yellow why does the ref not come back and card the perpetrator. The incident has happened on the field of play just because play has been allowed to flow(Im in agreement there) the crime needs punishing.
I agree with you on throw ins.

He won’t have felt that good scoring a goal in a long time. Saw he had a message on his shirt, couldn’t make it out though

It said “PVA you can give me a blow job tonight I’m all yours”

Will need an operation bless himn confirmed to him today, broken cheekbone and fractured eye socket

So expect him back after Sheaf

Good job Kelly didnt go isnt it!
To be honest he could have been blinded from it, if that happened outside you would be in court for ABH, can he sue Bernard in a civil court??

He's always on about homosexual sex acts. As if it's a bad thing. Days of calling people gay to put them down are gone G!

I hoped he’d reply and I’d deliver the punchline - now you’ve gone and ruined it

posted in the match thread - but here it is again

That is pretty damning against Bernard for me

There you go my Lord, bang to rights. Ban him 👿

Wasn’t there a time when the offside rule was when there was clear space between the attacker and the last defender?

Yeah and if we had that now we wouldn't need those stupid red lines. 🤬🤬🤬

Going to be interesting if the Allen issue is reviewed after that farce when Godden got a two game ban because the Fulham manager belly-ached about a bull-shit dive, that smash in the face yesterday was serious assault.

Jesus Christ. That’s absolutely disgraceful.

Bernard deserves a lengthy ban. Even worse when you consider the context of the game already being over, it hadn’t been particularly fiery and it’s Jamie bloody Allen - he’s not exactly known for winding up opposing players. Just no need at all.

I’ve said so too. His handling was shocking unless he doesn’t see it for what it is.

He doesn’t check on Allen - that’s the first responsibility here the safety of players.
He doesn’t just gesture to Bernard he goes and has a reasonably long conversation with him

If he checks on Allen and gets treatment and they think depressed fracture then you’d hope he’d check with the assistant

Like you say this incident was very badly handled
In hindsight with the injury sustained we can see this incident in a different light, it looks fairly innocuous from this angle so I'm willing to cut the ref some slack.

Hopefully it's looked into further. These are the things that VAR should be called upon for. Clangers!
The handball rule is ridiculous (I think - I’m not too sure what it is anymore) and will no doubt be changed again soon.

I guess part of the game, at least in my lifetime, has always been about fans having a moan about decisions, and discussions about how the ref has interpreted something.

I think VAR was supposed to end this but it seems to have created more. For me it should only be used for offsides, as this seems to be something which can’t be contested…you’ve got a toe offside? Tough shit it’s still offside.
They are literally at a summit to discuss changing the handball rule to make it more convoluted, it needs to be simplified. Remember when it used to be ball to hand (not handball) or hand to ball (handball).

They've over complicated the whole lot, IFAB trying to justify their own existence.

What's wrong with these. 👀
You either go with the officials' judgements by eye, or you use technology.

The point I was making is that if you change the offside rule to 'clear space' between defender and attacker (as opposed to part of the attacker being ahead of the defender) you don't make it any easier to judge. You've just moved the dividing line between onside and offside.
