Robin’s got it wrong tonight.

we knew Preston would press hard and be physical yet we ignored the more physical and experienced Kitchin and Bidwell in favour of Binks and Da Silva .

He waited until half time to alter anything and somehow managed to make us even less effective in the second half with the new formation.

Eccles set pieces were atrocious and yet he was kept on them all match …

Then the most inexplicable one of them all risking Torp when we were 0-3 down and 20 mins to go. The game had gone. It was a silly risk.

Personally I think the players got it wrong not Robins.

The players undoubtedly got it wrong but Robins got the initial team selection wrong, waited too long to act, then got the change in formation wrong.

Completely agree. They targeted Dasilva from the kick off. Crazy not to start Bidwell. Absolutely no idea why Binks is playing ahead of Kitching at the minute especially for a game like tonight. Everyone knows what Preston are about. Big, physical, direct side. So many games this season we have lost as soon as the teamsheet has gone in.

Robins gets most things right.

But he does have a habit of making some strange decisions.

Wilson
JDS
Binks

Why? He has pointed out the shite defence tonight, well the improvement started when he shipped out the above and brought Collins, Kitching and Bidwell in and the leaking of goals started again when he began using a dartboard to pick his team.

Likewise the Torp thing. Maybe he plans on playing him on Monday, but seemed a bizarre risk so soon after injury.

Eccles on corners. He should be banned from taking them. I'd put more money on my 15 month old kid beating the first man than Eccles. Yet he persists.

Let’s be honest every team since Bristol away had targeted Desilva when he plays. Constantly the ball is knocked over his head and the opposition score from it.

oggy was saying tht kelly has an infected foot or something, which is why hes not playing? its not purely been down to poor performances?

eccles corners werent beating the first man, regardless we should have focused on trying to play out from corners, if we can get the first and second ball in the air, which we didnt all game, why even pump it into the box?

Award for the strangest take on tonight goes to …..
Thanks.

Most people on the cup vs promotion thread seemed to prefer wining the cup, so tonights shit show doesn’t matter - it’s Monday that counts.

Switching to a 5 back second half was almost insulting to the 24,500 in there… obvious we were getting nothing from the game at that point. Not that some of them deserved it with the ridiculous antics at 1/2/3-0.

'Crazy not to start Bidwell'

Give me a break. This forum has been full of some ridiculous love in for Da Silva over the last few weeks and I don't know why.

He played well against a second string Sheffield Wednesday team but has looked like one of our weakest signings all season otherwise. The champing for him recently is bizarre. No where near good enough.

Come on please
At this exact point last season this forum were still calling Bidwell shit .

Don't understand your point either.
It's OK seems to be happening all the time these days mate, simply a riposte to Martin saying The forum was calling out Bidwell and I've been banging the Burroughs drum all season 👍
Chopping and changing the squad for a couple of months, doing nothing for them to become a cohesive unit.
The squad last season must have burnt out yet got to Wembley?

OP is correct. Robins got it wrong on this occasion. If you want to win games you got to pick your best team. At the back that's Collins, MVE, Thomas, Kitching, Bidwell. If you got them available then play them. Chopping and changing the back 5 helps no one.

Wilson looks good when he has a cohesive and confident defence in front of him, which Binks and JDS were not. JDS was an accident waiting to happen, and Binks appeared to be running scared of what JDS might do next.

Everybody moaning that Kitching didn't start. So if he did, who do you play on Monday vs Maidstone if Binks isn't good enough ?

And how many of last night's goals were down to Wilson ?

JDS has got praise from forumites this season for some of his performances but based on one bad game, he's not worth keeping.

You're all correct. Throw the entire team out and start again. As if that works......

We've had a feckin' terrible performance with some of our second string given starting roles. The selection would have been fine if the players played as a team. Everyone chose to have a bad day at the office.

Lest we forget, the season isn't over because of one result. We knew this was a rebuild year, getting into the playoffs was always going to be a bonus, not an expectation.

And we got tanked by Stoke last season and still got into the playoffs.

This forum is getting worse for kneejerk reactions. Some of you need to give yourself 24 hrs calmdown time before posting.

Surprised @Grendel and @Ann Proctor-Brown haven't jumped on to add fuel to the fire.

What team have you been watching ? We've been letting in goals home and away for months, regardless of who is picked. Everyones favourite keeper Collins has no clean sheets in Jan, 7 games and 3 clean sheets in December and November was the only positive month, 4 games 3 clean sheets and 1 away game at Preston.
