A lot of those seem very high.

We did okay and controlled the match, but Rotherham were dreadful.

Don't think it warrants so many 8's.

I take your point but I don't mark players performances differently if we are up against a top team compared with an average team so likewise against a poor team.

I just thought that only Palmer, Eccles, Bidwell and Simms were really good.

The rest were decent enough, but didn't really have much to contend with really. A relatively easy night for many.

I just see 8 as a top performance and I don't think we saw that many of them.

Seems harsh dishing out 6s and 7s when we won 5-0 but Rotherham were bloody awful and we barely got out of 3rd gear in the second half.

Edit: as discussed above!

7s and 6s all round first half.

4s and 5s for second half.
I would say a few 8's for the first half (Eccles, Bidwell, Simms and Palmer) and 6.5's for everyone in the second.

Just did what we needed to do to kill the game.

I liked the way Kitching picked out Bidwell with several pinpoint passes. They combined very well. An odd game - wouldn’t give anyone more than 7 apart from Simms - 8
👏👏👏

Generous for me.

That 2nd half was dire. Didn't look like we were 'killing' a game. Looked like we lowered our standards to that of Rotherham. They looked as likely to score in that half as we did and they are the worst team I've seen at CBs in years. Including Maidstone.

We just did a professional job in the second half and used the squad. Were people expecting another 4. Rotherham barely threatened.
Exactly. Rotherham were always going to have a lot more possession in the second half.

The second half was dire, but we weren't. It was just a very dull affair. We hardly looked threatened at all

So funny how if you’d swapped the halves around the players would have gone off to a full house standing ovation, as it is half the crowd had gone home and the other half were barely looking up from their phones

Collins - 7 Not a lot to do , couple of saves but I feel so much more confident with him in goal
Eccles - 8 Pushed Simms for MOM for me
Thomas - 7 Good game for him , loves a battle
Lati - 7 suits the sweeper role and didn't back out of the Hugill battle
Kitching -7.5 So composed on the ball and didn't put a foot wrong
Bidwell - 7.5 Solid as usual and some decent deliveries
Kelly 6.5 Does what he does but wouldn't want him starting against the better sides
Torp - 7 another quiet game but he can spot a pass and is confident in possession
Palmer - 7.5 played with a real swagger and created a lot of problems for the Rotherham defence
Simms - 8.5 so pleased for him , two hat tricks in a week and visibly growing in confidence
Wright - 6.5 tried hard and played a part in a couple of goals but just isn't happening for him currently

Subs
O' Hare - 5.5 so so frustrating, was the polar opposite of Palmer
MvE - 6 looked a lot livelier tonight
Godden - 6 linked up well but missed another golden opportunity
Tavares - 6.5 raw as they come but signs of a player in there
Andrews - NA but great to see him come on , looks a big lad so hopefully can continue to progress

God, I properly felt that ball come to him for the first time like an out of body experience from the stands

Everyone was willing him on. I think he’s been done a disservice playing such short periods TBH, must mean he never settles. I’d have given him 20 minutes today just to get over it.

The low ratings for Wright are baffling, I thought he was excellent tonight. If there’s anything we can take away from a game against such poor opposition, it’s that him and Simms can potentially play together up top, which would be huge for us going forward.
The thing for me tonight was you could see his frustration when things didn't happen for him . Him and Simms are going to be fine for us this season and beyond
