Im thinking a 1-1 draw which would be okay. Avoiding defeat away is always a good result whoever you play in the league.

You are right smashatom, he will destroy (I think) Clarry Bourtons' record of 5 consecutive away goals" which has lasted for nearly 65 years:claping hands:

Cheers for confirming, that should help us then, I would imagine he would be pretty determined to get himself into the clubs history book! And if he does score tonight he can extend his record every away game!

I'll go for 2-2, McGoldrick first goal. Will be 2 teams wanting to play football, but ruined by a ref that likes to be in the limelight! I also predict 6 yellows and at least 1 red!

Feel free, Otis. I'm not in the thesis-writing business.

Though I don't know, the standard of university education these days, I could probably make some money selling some "example" essays.

If you'd like to write my Masters thesis on inorganic chemistry then do go ahead. Might be a bit too easy considering the current standard though.

I'd like to just point out that jennings was fantastic on saturday and i think he is better than bailey and if barton is to come in the bailey has to be dropped. Jennings ran after balls lofted pver the top of our defense as i he was the opposing striker he really wanted to get it.

Cov fan working in London. Can I get a ticket in the away end at the ground tonight? Or am I going to have to sit on my hands when we score?

I tried today and was told that i would have to go through Cov if i wanted a seat in the away end. You've still got time, ring Cov and the ticket will be awaiting collection at Colchesters ticket office. When you book you get a e-mail with a printed ticket confirmation with a reference number on it ,just take it with you.

Thanks Rev. Can''t get through. Going to have to chance it at the ground. Need to leave and start making my way to the stadium. Enjoy the game.

Have £20 on the draw and a tenner on over 4 goals......no easy money like last game. 4-1 win or a draw for me.

Glad to hear it. Been very disappointed with him so far. Really hope he is the player we expected and were told about when we got him and not yet another flop a la Gary Deegan.

He's worse than Deegan and a lot worse than Bailey. Hartlepool are heading for League Two - that is where the likes of Jennings and Barton would be more suited.

It's an interesting test. Not an easy game but if we have supposed play-off aspirations a long unbeaten run is required.

A draw is acceptable but a defeat means 2 in the last 3 against lower half opposition.

Ill go 2-1 win Mcgoldrick to score first within the 1st ten mins baker to make it 2-0 just before half time and Colchester setting up a tense finish around the 70th min. Not too specific

At least 1 for Clinton then!!

I'd love a win, and am half tempted to allow myself to think we will win. However I'll stick with the draw, which actually wouldn't be that bad!!

@ Grendel...

Spot on observation, and nothing to do with "Glass half empty". I too would be very happy to come away with a draw.

If we lose it's certain relegation, if we win its a play off place, if we draw its mid table....

Draw would be great.

We could well lose though and if we do I hope there isn't too much wailing and gnashing of teeth on here. We are still work in progress and Hartlepool were bottom by quite some distance.

Much, much tougher game tonight. There shouldn't be any expectation. Be nice if we put in a good performance. Hopefully that will lead to a point gained, maybe even three, who knows.

I will go for a 1-1. Got to be very happy with that.

People began talking about relegation and liquidation as the only option after defeat to Scunthorpe :jerkit:

My prediction is if you score more goals than Colchester, you'll win. However, if you score fewer goals, you'll lose. In the event that both sides score the same number of goals, you'll draw.

In none of the scenarios outlined above will you be promoted or relegated tonight. Neither will you qualify for the playoffs, the Champions League or the World Cup, and you will not go out of business.

None of the possible results will lead to anyone dying, or a military coup in any west African countries.

So... 1-1 draw.
