I watched Harrison Burrows a few times now and he will get a move to championship next season. Looks a good player,.

Boro no 2 looks solid and 22 is a big fella.

22 is Kyprianou, allegedly thr other player we have first dibs on, does remind me of Sheaf in a way. 2 is Katongo young player on loan from Man City.

That 22 looks like Sheaf when he 1st come to us. Same shape, could be a nice pick up. But id go Burrows if had the option, only doubt i have is his defensive play, but on the ball he is very hood.

That can’t be true. Surely the buy out clause is between club and player to agree to sell if one or more clubs trigger the buyout number. There is no contract with any bidding club at that stage, and if the player wants to go to a higher bidder that is his prerogative and Sporting will have to agree to it.
Why would a club pay more than the buyout? If a club bids that amount then the club owning the player are contractually obliged to accept it. The player can choose not to go but the club have to give them the choice.

Plus if they could afford more they'd then put it towards the players wage packet to give them a better chance of getting their signature, especially if numerous clubs are interested.

Really don't understand where the "We need to replace Collins" comes from. He is 24 which is stupidly young for a goalie. He will improve providing injuries don't change the dynamic. Has looked good this year apart from the Huddersfield and Swansea cock ups. Good with his feet and a good shot stopper. Could have another 9 years as a top goalie.
Think Vik will only get better with better players and could do a job in the Prem.
Would love Norton-Cuffey to come back even on loan. Can't see Arsenal letting him go for a lowish fee anyway at this stage of his development.
Would like Mcallum back but as he is playing for Norwich now again unlikely.

I think we asked for first option but it was not agreed.

We may revisit in the summer, especially if interest in Sheaf hots up. We'd need another option regardless with Kelly to leave and if Allen was to go

That kvistgaarden was mentioned by a couple, would be someone I could see to be fair.

I think burrows would be a great buy but I think Celtic are in, as well as probably 8/10 champ. I don’t know whether we’d be able to get him.

definitely think the link with ephron could play a part

Get on the phone to Fulham and request a season loan for Jay Stansfield

No chance

I didn't say we would get it done, they may want too much. But from what i heard he is definitely on the list and one we are trying to get. I think the Danish lad is the same, they want big money, but i think we will still have more than a passing look.

His kicking was really, really odd at some points yesterday. Lofting it high up in the air but not travelling too far, sometimes booting straight out of play. Like the other Barnsley boys, we'll need to accept some more gaffes from him while he comes good.

I think the club is very serious about gaining promotion and to do that you need the best players and the strongest squads. I wouldn't be shocked at any name connected within the league now or any above in UK or abroad.

The club is improving all the time and players see this and see the stability we have. Put the crowd on this and we have become an attractive option. We also have become a high profile club which young players looking to showcase themselves would see us as a good option.

Laugh, but don't be shocked if we try to get some real talent. I think Doug will back our recruiting team ,they already have done a great job and that is another dept that has improved.

We need one of Poku/Dolan/Sorba Thomas for the wing, a good striker content rotating with Simms, thinking Tyrese Campbell/Liam Cullen, and a younger striker to mold, maybe Ricky-Jade Jones who can play on the wings too or even give Obikwu a go.

These acquisitions shouldn't cost much all together, so if we get a cash windfall from Gyokeres I'd throw some serious investment getting some quality 10/8/6s in, along with some defenders for cheap. Thinking Sem Steijn, Gianluca Busio, and Kyprianou/Tessmann, would cost all together 12-20m I think, depending on how their clubs finish the season, but I'm sure we can structure add-on/bonus heavy deals. Wishful thinking? Maybe but this would be a dream.

I’d definitely like Dolan from Blackburn

I don’t think we will add to much to the back line to be honest. If Burroughs is retained in the squad he can cover both full back positions , a position which we would still have MvE , Bidwell , JdS and Joel . I think a centre back would be priority if we don’t go back for Binks , who I’m still uncertain about in a four . Would be nice to sign another gk but if Wilson is happy to stay then there is no great urgency to do it .
I think the recruitment will be focused around another midfielder to compete with Sheaf , Eccles , Torp and maybe Allen if he stays and a number 10 to replace O’Hare . Obikwu will likely go back out on loan and Godden will go so another Striker will be needed .We are desperately short in the wide forward areas but with the addition of EMC it will help but would still like to see a Dolan/Thomas/Azeez type player .
I think there will be 2-3 big signings and 3-4 signed on potential

Pretty sure we aren't doing loans anymore. At least without the chance to buy the player at the end. No point developing others talent.

Anyhow who would we drop for Stansfield? Very good player but we aren't dropping Simms and he isn't coming to sit on a bench

You want competition for places so even though this squad has performed well this season we are still short of quality in depth. Anyone coming in should be equally or better than what you have in his position.

We are not building a squad to cement a championship place, we are building a squad to get us into the premiership. For that you need players better than the level you are at all over the field and bench.

If someone meets the buy out clause sporting have to give Gyokeres permission to speak to the club.

If multiple clubs meet the buy out then it will be up to the player to choose, but there is no incentive for a club to go above 100 million as it doesn't get them ahead of the other clubs.

I.e if Arsenal bid 100 million there is no benefit to PSG bidding 120 million, it doesn't put them ahead of Arsenal in the race as the player will already be given permission to speak and negotiate with both clubs.

It was very interesting to listen to Brighton CEO Paul Barber talking about transfers.

Says most clubs focus on the next 2 windows, Brighton try to work on windows 3 and 4 … calculating which players will have improved to the point they realistically will lose then and ensuring they have the replacement already in. Spotting players earlier than other clubs, and when value is at its best.

He accepted they won’t get everything right, and that managers always want more and typically more proven players but this model enables Brighton to compete and be sustainable.

Given the exchange between us and Peterborough when we got Mason-Clark in terms of us “liking” another one of theirs I would like us to have a look at Harrison Burrows.
