Well that was interesting. Pep Guadiola complaining that Man City had to play today, when they wanted to play tomorrow and get the extra days rest.
And Lineker dropped it out that, that was probably OUR fault. Sounds like the BBC had the Saturday and the choice of fixtures.
Good old Pep was not amused.

Police wanted it this way around didn't they?

Man Utd games are a high risk apparently.

We were told it was down to the Met not wanting Chelsea crossing town on the Sunday which always sounded suspect to me?

It's all horseshit. No issues with fans leaving the ground today , many trains with supporters from both teams.

Man City have about 150 players if it was that big of a problem he’d have played some of the other ones. Moaning little shit has no idea how good he has it.

I’d love someone to put together a squad level cumulative rest days metric so whenever someone like Pep starts moaning he is confronted with the data that shows his squad is always going to have had more rest than almost anyone else, regardless of which day his games are scheduled for. It’s his decision to play the same players in consecutive games and if he was truly concerned about player welfare then he wouldn’t do it. Fucking hypocrite.

Er you have to have 25 player squad
Plus the entire U21 Squad, which means they have ~50 entire players to choose from.

Rules on U21 players

Under-21 players are eligible over and above the limit of 25 players per squad.

Each player is assigned a squad number, which they wear during Premier League matches.

For the 2023/24 campaign Under-21 players will have been born on or after 1 January 2002.
