I think I am. I'm listening to a commercial radio station that plays music. I feel a bit sick, but I'm persevering in case the duplicitous floppy-haired chubster puts in an appearance

Any updates?

Yes. Crap music, and a volume - when listening online - that varies up and down like the shower temperature in a cheap hotel. Not ideal when one's trying to listen at work!?!

Still no signs of The Fisher King; and it's not even been mentioned. Is this a jape?

Sky Blues chief executive comments on media reports about negotiations with ACL

Coventry City Football Club's chief executive officer Tim Fisher has commented following today's media reports on negotiations between the football club and Arena Coventry Limited.

He said: "Coventry City's long standing financial issues have been a result, in part, of having to pay levels of rent significantly higher than most football clubs whilst also not benefitting from stadium match day revenues such as food and beverage (as other clubs which rent their stadia routinely do).

"The overall transaction with ACL was designed to address these problems which put Coventry City at a severe disadvantage compared to most other clubs.

“The club continues to pay match day costs, previously included within the rent, in full on a match-by-match basis to ACL. On a full-year basis, this will exceed more than £200K - or double what a typical League One club pays in rent.

“We appreciate that ACL's financial position must be particularly fragile at the moment, especially given its very high debt levels, the recent withdrawal of multiple stand sponsorships and the upcoming drop in naming rights revenue.

"However, the Club remains committed to continuing our negotiations to put things on a normalised financial and business footing. SISU continue to fund the Club whilst these negotiations progress.”

I like the way he's constantly harping on about our rent not being in-line with League One clubs - but doesn't seem to understand the role his employers played in getting the club into this league. Would he be complaining the rent was too low if we'd be in the Premiership and filling it, week-in week-out?

Meanwhile, on this ludicrous radio station, you can - if you're quick - win £100 worth of vouchers for an establishment named 'Wholesale Meats' on Bayton Road. Which appears to be a butchers on an industrial estate with a Tiscali email address and no website...

Was there a date set by the court as to when payments had to me made? Why no comment on the 50% purchase, but comments on ACL's finances?

I always go there for my Meat. It's far better quality than supermarket stuff at far lower prices. 5kg of Chicken Breast for only £25, Thats approximately 30 chicken breasts for just £25!!!!!!! The Jack Daniels pork chops are amazing too.

I wish someone would take Fisher to task on this childish and ignorant claim - he's made it before.

We don't pay the same rent as other League One clubs, that's clear. That stated, ACL don't give him the same venue as other League One clubs upon which to build a 'matchday experience'.

It's not their fault SISU have overseen a relegation and halving of matchday attendance :thinking about:

You must like your meat. I note you even capitalised the word, so as to offer significance and meaty deference

Move alone. Nothing to see here. It was just mentioned on the news; and it's simply a regurgitation of that on the official site - minus the sight of the Fisher King in his pyjama top.

No interviews, just quotes.

At least I know where to get cheap meat, should the inclination be visited upon me

Yeah, that's what was read out. No interview though.

I like the bit where he states, with regards ACL and the stadium: “I think the [Ricoh Arena's] bank are pushing things to a head. The stadium model is so over-leveraged, there is so much debt on it, this was just waiting to happen.”

Did someone from SISU really say this? Pot, kettle, glass houses, stones, black, throw - are all words that are involuntarily summoned to the forefront of my mind....

We can all see what the problems are but what's the solution - or at least what steps can be taken to try to move things in a more positive direction (in relation to CCFC not meat that is)?

I really do hope this comes back to bite TF and SISU

“We are prepared to pay double what a League 1 club would be expected to pay" thats good then Walsall pay £450k i believe £900k will do nicely.

"We want to be a real football club, and a real football club pays a very reasonable rent, but it also has access to all the matchday revenues like food, beverage, naming rights and advertising.
“We would simply hand access to those revenues to [Manager] Mark Robins who has done a fantastic job, so that he can continue the turnaround on the pitch and move the club up.”
are we only make believe then TF - you tell me how many other League 1 teams has the facilities at the Ricoh..... why is it we cant afford it and are in L1 Tim ? Given that ACL are in possession of those income streams and they have worth how and when are you going to buy those rights ? Love the way he tries to cosy up to the supporters ..... looking at what we want to do ...... look at those nasty people at ACL . Sorry but everyone knows that SISU's only way out is get hold of the stadium cheap and sell on for a profit TF

"You would have to go direct to SISU for that, but frankly I would not buy half of something which is worth nothing today" Tells you everything about what he and SISU have been trying to do really. DRive down the worth of ACL and get it on the cheap. Plus if he thinks that do we honestly believe any meaningful discussions to purchase 50% of ACL have been going on ...... it is afterall CCFC that would have to own that 50% and he is one of only 2 directors listed there :thinking about:he would know if the deal was really on the cards wouldnt he ? he just said it wasnt worth having !

"I think the [Ricoh Arena's] bank are pushing things to a head. The stadium model is so over-leveraged, there is so much debt on it, this was just waiting to happen.” Strangely while CCFC have been getting further into debt and making losses ACL have reduced their mortgage and consistently made profits. The thing making the difference is the £1m + taken out of their cashflow by........ TF .

Clever guy, very PR aware, great time to be scare mongering and getting in the first blow. I wouldnt buy a tonka toy off him !

£450,000 for the Bescott? Bit steep isn't it? Only cost £4.5million to build 22 years ago.

Mind you still owned by the Walsall owner, so probably why it's so expensive.
