Apparently but when I asked Ifollow a couple of weeks ago they said they knew nothing about it.
I believe the plan is for iFollow to continue to be available internationally - but of course, it won't be much use if local broadcasters are showing the game(s) you want to watch as they typically aren't allowed to let you stream that. Of course, people can use VPNs to get around these types of geo-blocks.

I wonder how viable iFollow is as a whole if majority of customers can no longer make use of it and will not pay for it...

Speaking as someone living in a country that has no Championship coverage on TV, I intend to renew my iFollow Season Ticket.

I’m sure it’ll be viable but will revert to the lower quality it was pre-Covid. Have they contacted you about how it’ll work moving forward?

I emailed them when my subscription was auto-cancelled and they said "More information to be disclosed soon." and I think the announcements from them and/or the club implied international iFollow would likely continue, but I suppose all bets are off until there's an official confirmation.

Yeah same for me but when I asked for more info I was told they didn’t actually know if it would continue, which was weird, so I kicked off and they said it’d be revealed at some point.

I hope the Sky coverage outside of the main game improves with all this. The red button coverage is dire. No replays and one substandard commentator. Ifollow is vastly superior.
Yeah, so rubbish. In SD too so you can hardly tell the players apart the picture is so fuzzy. You would hope being on a dedicated channel that the broadcasts will be up to scratch.

Mine was cancelled too. The email said it was subject to my request. I just ignored it to deal with in summer

Will matches still be available to watch via iFollow, or Clubs’ alternative streaming services?

  • From the 2024/25 season onward, this new deal with Sky Sports will effectively replace the EFL’s domestic video streaming option provided via iFollow and club streaming services
  • Audio services will remain domestically, alongside existing audio-visual arrangements for international audiences.
Forgot to add this, from the FAQ: Sky Sports+ Q&A

For those of us who use iFollow internationally, it sounds like nothing will change, unless a local broadcaster in your country carries the Championship and picks up specific games.

In my case, no broadcaster is carrying the championship where I am, so I hope this will just be another iFollow Season Ticket year.

Never mind that, get back to counting those dots!

Does anybody know if the IFollow audio commentaries will be available for those of us who live outside the C & W radio area ?

A few questions;

1. Is it true that, even though I have the full Sky Sports HD package, I won’t be able to see Sky Sport Plus because my Sky plus HD box is not sufficient and I need to pay even more to upgrade to Sky Q? which I don’t want to do.
2. Can I watch Sky sports plus on the Sky sports app on my tablet if I’m logged in? At least I’ll be able to watch on my tablet.
3. Bit of a weird one this. If you can only watch Sky sports in the UK how far off shore do you have to go to lose the signal/ability to watch it? I was on a cruise last year and was able to watch our first live game of the season on Sky sports while between UK and France but there must be a limit where it stops. Anyone know where it is? If it’s British territorial waters then what distance from dear old Blighty will it stop working?

I’m pretty sure someone on here will claim to be an expert on this topic.

Not an expert but could get Sky in North Brittany when we lived there, was quite handy ti be able to watch UK TV rather than the crap that is broadcast in France.

The shore nothing to do with it - it’s a satellite so it was curvature of the Earth. Although of course isn’t it all internet now,

I think you can watch through sky sports app however I would give sky a call. I’m pretty sure they do free upgrades from the hd boxes to sky q. Either way just call em and tell them you’re not happy about it and you’re thinking of cancelling. Then just see what they offer. If your out of contract your in a stronger position but make sure you get through to their retentions department.

Fair chance this is why they keep extending season ticket deadlines.

I wonder if fans will travel away so much?

Nothing beats a day out and live football and maby clubs have big followings but it could be part of the thinking when we reduced the away capacity?

Can't believe it's 2024 and someone's still got Sky+HD

I'm with Virgin Media. Presume we'll be able to watch the Plus channel.

I'd be surprised if moving to SkyQ cost you any more. It didn't when I moved across, although it was my annual threat to cancel to get it cheaper.

Always cancel because, as if by magic, a deal comes up within the month cancellation period that is well over half they were offering to renew... bastards!
