Dunno if this is true but would just be our luck to be shafted by 12 months!

After so long as it has been, how difficult will it be for officials to adjust to this!?
Prem fine - they will have the new - far more accurate - automated offsides.

Lower down.....??

What I like about this interpretation is that it's a clear advantage for the attacker at that point. I know there still be marginal calls but at least the attacker will be in a position of advantage. I just think it will be easier to stomach

I'm not sure it totally solves the whole forensic level of examination of if a person's toe nail is in line or not, it just shifts the definition around a bit.

How does it make it easier for linesman? This is going to be far harder judge and adds a whole new level of subjectivity when we don't have technology in the lower leagues.

Okay, so a lineman can judge if a player is level, but not if the player is ahead of the defender. 👀

It's much easier to judge a level decision than an unclear daylight rule. With the current rule he is either ahead or not. With this a lino has to judge at speed on the move how much of the body is ahead. Far more subjective like I said. This was cause far more issues lower down. It will work well with automated offsides and VAR.

Don’t like this personally because it gives the attacker an effective head start and will likely lead to teams sitting deeper.

didn't this used to be the rule?

Time to just dump the offside rule altogether. Would save a lot of time and after match forensic exercises
Radical!
I would love to see a trial fixture with no offside rule.

It would certainly spread the game and leave more space for players all over the pitch.
