Thought he spoke well
Nice they’ve tinkered a little
Still think it’s wrong to cancel season tickets but the argument is compelling
Fully expect record season ticket sales

Doug framed it that if you can't get to 8 games, you probably should not have a ST.

Has the number changed then from 10 to 15 postings on the exchange for not having a ST in the FZ in 25/26?

Thought it was incredibly boring. Him backing down on the 8/10 games issue is tragic again.

Didn’t like his comments regarding squad depth nor his comments about the club haemorrhaging money.

Also seems like the kits won’t be on sale any time soon.

It’s all a bit amateur. Unsure why he’s constantly talking to the press, fix your actions your words are meaningless.
yes because the radio silence from SISU worked out well didnt it?

Looks like it

12 times maximum on exchange
3 times you are allowed not to go and not list on exchange would be my guess

So you can miss 15 games a season.

Really no excuse, people who continue to complain were surely those looking to abuse the system.

The policy is now that we have to make 8 games together otherwise we can't renew. Put it on the exchange if we can't make it. If my son can't make it I can't use my ticket on my own in the FZ and have to get a ticket elsewhere in the stadium for that game. Seems a much more reasonable approach in my view

Phil Upton put a question/suggestion to him about having light shows and fireworks like Hull and Wolves. Doug basically said it's all good and well people suggesting this but it all costs money and Championship clubs generally are loss making and lose between £10-15m a year.

Squad depth he was a bit sketchy on but was trying to say they are trying to improve the welfare side of things with a view to reducing injuries.

What's incredibly boring is the seemingly desperate need for negativity when, in my opinion, there's no reason to be anything but positive and incredibly optimistic about next season and the general direction the club is headed.

Things will never be perfect and it is impossible to keep everyone 100% happy all of the time, but we have an owner with a clear desire to go up and its clear that we feel like a proper club rather than a basket case like we have been most of my lifetime.

Is he perfect? No. But neither are any of us.

It was prompted by a question about a pre game light show which was obviously light hearted.

He then changed the tone completely and basically said what @Grendel has been saying about the losses the club makes. How he is keeping the club afloat and it isn’t sustainable in the long term.

In regards to squad depth, he feels it’s a waste of wages as they don’t play much and would rather put money into the medical side to keep players fit. Then he rambled on about how he monitors the ‘hardness’ of the pitch at Ryton.

Sounds a bit delusional really, with the best will in the world medical staff do not prevent injury. We didn't even have a particularly bad season injuries wise and still struggled a bit, if he can't see that it's quite worrying.

F*cking light shows? :ROFLMAO: Why not start handing out those paper clappers while we're at it?

I’m not sure why a self-confessed novice to football like Doug would be making these kinds of directives to the recruitment team. Surely that’s not how he runs his other businesses?

If that's his opinion on squad depth then my prediction for next season now has us dropping short again.

Even with the best medical staff in the world the human body has limits and needs rest. If that's his opinion is suggests a massive lack of understanding.

Yeah agree with this - really dont think we had that bad injury record last season at all. Squad depth needs a big improvement

Yep. Even if the injuries aren't there the drop in performance from tiredness will be. If the end of the season with games coming thick and fast due to the cup run didn't tell King we need a bigger squad then nothing will.

I would imagine he has probably been listening to advice and researching what other clubs do.

You don’t have to be an expert to successfully lead an enterprise, you do need the skill to listen to experts and act accordingly. Doug is not a novice businessman.

I didn't read that as negative but more just managing expectations. We don't have an owner that is going to endlessly fund those losses - the goal is to build the club's revenue to bring it closer to sustainability and also to get that ridiculous Premiership promotion $$$.

I am not sure we can ask for a lot more as long as we keep improving and investing in the team. I don't read his message as "we're not going to deepen the squad" clearly we are going to do that - but we're also not likely to go and spend more than we have earned in transfer fees to do that.

Off the top of my head, at various times last season - all of which will add to the load on uninjured players, we had Sheaf, Allen, O’Hare, Tavares, Torp, Binks, Kelly, Wright, Sakamoto, Palmer, Van Ewijk injured.

Weren’t people complaining about the medical staff when we kept getting ACL injuries? Improving your infrastructure and medical provision can only be viewed as a positive.

Unless he said ‘we’re not signing any more players’, then you can worry. MR has said that he wants and needs more players and he’s going to get that. Signings have to improve us and not, as some people suggest, be signed to be a ‘backup’.

My observation is that a lot of people just want something to complain about.

Of course it is a positive but it isn't a substitute for squad depth - he apparently chose to answer a question about squad depth with a reference to the medical infrastructure.

And which of those injuries could be prevented through more medical work? I'm not sure many could.

Anyway, point is i doubt we were in the top half of the league for injuries
