It is, but I’m not sure that then banning people from renewing for the following season while also forfeiting their ticket for the current one is the right answer. Unlimited resells is the fair way of doing it to ensure you keep bums in seats while not ultimately punishing the children who couldn’t go to enough games for Doug’s liking.

I'll be on board this year then - impressed they froze the prices. Travelling from Munich so will be a fair slog but my mum can have it when I cant make it. Big season ahead!

Fair play for your commitment….I’ve considered it myself but I’d want to sell the unused seat for the 12 games a season I wouldn’t get to , a proper ticket exchange would be good.

Like i said previously the hysteria was unnecessary. Doug usually rectifies issues and listens to supporters feedback when hes wrong. Suspected he would change his mind and he has. Anyone unable to do 8 games shouldn't really be getting a season ticket, from a financial perspective too!

Now only have to attend 8 games a season in the FamilyZone fair play think that’s reasonable.
Just need to remember to list tickets on the exchange which is fair enough.

Listening to him his feeling is those who want to take kids, tickets should be available in the FZ through the ticket exchange. I’m not sure how that will work as surely they’ll be random singles around the place? But then he said you won’t be allowed in without kids so if it’s a dad and lad on a weeknight can the dad not go alone?

Yea a little weird if you ask me , ultimately the dad has still paid 250 quid for a ticket so surely the club need to help towards other arrangements

I don't really get the issue, obviously I've not had a season ticket for many years since moving away but when I did I never felt entitled to get money back for anything I couldn't make it to.
Tbh I was thinking about this not that long ago, my son is almost 3, if by say 5, he has an interest I was thinking of getting us STs (if its still possible by then) but we'd only make the weekend games, so I'd either flog the other tickets super cheap of just give them away to someone who can't usually afford it as I'd hate to see a seat go empty.

I think a lot, like I did a coupoenof seasons back, get a kids ST knowing the kid can’t make a chunk of games, but planning to go themselves when they can’t. So people are worried about being penalised for continuing the same behaviour. It’s a nightmare for parents who go with and without kids. You want a reserved seat there’s not a lot you can do really other than buy a ST and not use it.

Ah ok I see, slightly different to my hypothetical then as dad still wants to go but kid can't and might get penalised for not doing so, that's the issue right?
In which case I'd just say scan your kids ticket at the gate even if not there. Bit stupid they have you doing that but pretty easy fix I think.

Yeah I think that’s the actual answer and what I’d do if I was still doing the same.
I can just see people doing that, Doug seeing empty seats, and something like stewards checking on certain seats being empty and not reported or something stupid.

It's probably been discussed at length so I don't know the answer, but we have a group of 6 ST holders in block 18 so it doesn't directly affect us. However, one of our mates sits in the FZ with his six year old. His son doesn't want to do the evening games, so what is my mate supposed to do by the correct new rules? I would say most evening games, one of our block of 6 doesn't make it so he goes in on his ST ticket and comes and sits in a seat with us in Block 18. In theory he could just use a spare of ours I suppose, but if all 6 of us are there, can he not attend the game without his son?

Doug said that those in that position would have to make alternative arrangements. The devil is in the detail, and that detail hasn’t been revealed yet, but perhaps there will be a way of making those arrangements via the ticket exchange. If not, sounds like he would be expected to buy a ticket elsewhere. That probably isn’t as unreasonable as it sounds given how heavily discounted the adult FZ tickets are,

Thanks for replying. I guess the difficulty there is it probably works out cheaper for my mate to now have a ST with us but then the cost of a junior season ticket there is ridiculously overpriced so it will screw him again. I get that the deal in FZ is currently great value for him (as long as they both go, which they do to 90% of weekend games) but the alternate options for sitting anywhere else for children are ridiculously overpriced. Feels like something has to give.

They have removed the armed forces from their concession prices which is pretty poor and disappointing. Especially just doing it on the sly rather than announcing it.
As somebody who is posted 250 miles away, any saving on tickets is massively appreciated. Especially when committing to a season ticket with no guarantee of actually being in country throughout the year.
Appreciate it's likely on affecting a small number of fans but shows a lack of respect to just remove it without announcing it.

My daughter will miss games. She gets ill and sometimes gets left home as a punishment. Plus she has a school trip and holiday with her mom which is at least three games missed.
Having to buy full price for those few games plus a couple more when she can’t make it means I may as well just buy full price in standard zone. Saves the pissing around last minute to get a ticket when she comes home from school with a cold on match day or whatever.
Seems to be a bit OTT tbh. The initial revision made sense. I’m sure those paying full whack will have no sympathy, and that’s fair enough.

Those tickets are already massively discounted though. Fair play that he’s tweaked the number of games that can be missed after feedback (surely no issues with that now) but I’d rather they focus on having FZ resell tickets as cheap as possible than refunding. That would mean those with kids that have missed out on a ST or those with kids that can’t go regularly, can at least get to some games at discounted prices. Would be good if that’s the plan
