Sacked David Wagner..

The price of failure in the Championship is high.

Another club that will be no doubt linked with Mark Robins.

This is the only vacancy that mildly worries me, but if he went he'd be sacked within 18 months because he'd either have failed to get promotion or would be in the bottom 3 of the EPL. I suspect if we went up, we could finish bottom of the Premier League and he'd retain his job.

Robins well down the betting order at 16/1. 9 people ahead of him in the odds, Carlos Cuesta fav at the moment at 2/1.

I wouldn't be worried about Robins leaving at all. He's an absolute legend and I want him here forever, but the club is at a place right now in which it can attract some top class managers. We're not scratching around looking for Russell Slades and Andy Thorns anymore. Maybe I'm a bit blinkered but if the worst happened then I reckon we could go after the likes of a Liam Rosenior or a Steve Cooper (maybe even a Graham Potter - OK maybe that one is too far). But we're a club that is in a place to attract a top boss now I think.

Not sure why people worry about Norwich with Robins, he spent 3 years there the same as he did at leicester .. he's spent almost 3x as long at coventry city , he will be far more emotionally attached to our club than Norwich

Might be tinted specs, but I can't see Robins ever joining another club in the same league as Coventry, unless he was let go here.
Maybe he could be tempted with a mental offer in the Premier League at some point, but it's definitely a long term project with us

Norwich need a complete rebuild and change of style, thats why Wagner was let go, never liked his style of football always boring. They have some very average defenders as Leeds proved, big summer incoming for them. If a team in the top 6 lost to both Sheffield and Brum on the run in it shows the realistic position for a team that massively over achieved.

I think it’s more about Robins’ appeal to Norwich, rather than the other way round - teams seem completely unable to resist the idea of hiring their former players as managers sometimes. I don’t think he’d be in the conversation for them otherwise.

On paper it would be a good move for him but I think his attachment to us is strong, he likes the setup here and he’s not especially ambitious in his career.

Wouldn't say I am worried about Norwich specifically, but more interest in Robins means that potentially his head could be turned.

In any case Robins is under contract here and I think he recognises the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Agent needs to keep his name in there on these jobs if only to get an improved contract position here.

Interesting term head being turned . Apparently Arsenal assistant manager is the bookies favourite.

Overall I dont think our performances were as good as our position pre April suggested. Only basing view on Norwich on our home game against them but they were really poor. No idea how they produced an amazing set to results to qualify for play-offs.
I am glad Leeds beat them from a "what's best for Coventry City perspective@ but also from a football purest perspective. Leeds were very good against Sky Blues in both games.

Hopefully Norwich will be less of a threat going forward into next season or two..

Andy Thorn was a legend mate as he looked a bit like John Sillett (at the time some fans actually came out with that gem on CWR!)

Are you his bestie or something? I mean please elaborate on what his ambitions are in his career

Norwich we’re gutless against Leeds, didn’t lay a glove on them embarrassing. A bit
Like we’re we’re in the first halves against Luton and United.
Norwich were the 7th best side in the league, and we saw why. We were in fact the 5th best side, West Brom 6th in terms of real performances over the course of the season, including cup games, if you get my point.
However we would also have lost to Leeds or Southampton, as the reality was the top 4 were a level above the rest over the course of the season.
Season has been a disaster for one of Leeds or Southampton.

They probably would both have gone up but for Ipswich having a such a brilliant season.

Ipswich were predicted to be in contention to go up if i recall. They were brilliant but perhaps its not that suprising, their wage bill for instance dwarfs ours. I think the top 4 had close to the top 4 highest wage bills, with Norwich and West Brom next on the list.

I don't feel threatened by any championship club for Robins whatsoever. Not sure why people are shitting themselves so much.

That said, the fact he hasn't been tapped up by a PL club is a bit interesting.
If Robins was 10 years younger or his track record was good at other clubs apart from us maybe some PL might be interested. Think it's too late now unless he gets promotion with us .

In football terms the 7 years he’s already had in his second spell is very much long term. His age and CCFC still attracting a ‘who?’ from most PL figures except Crybaby Bruno’s chef mean no top flight club will consider him.

He leaves only if sacked or through retirement.

I don't normally do conspiracy theories but Doug (and his Norwich City connections) and a long winding road.
And it is a long winding road to Norwich,

Even if Robins wasn’t emotionally attached to Coventry (although he clearly is) I think he would want on his CV the achievement of taking a club from League Two to Premiership in under ten years.

He is part of an unfinished project here that is gaining momentum every season and I feel he is really unlikely to move.

After 46 games where you finish is where you deserve. Ninth and 9 points adrift . Yes the FA cup defeat undoubtedly effected us but let's say we'd have taken a few more points we'd have struggled to finish 6th.
