Stoke are a strange one. Seemed to recruit really well last year and always seem to have so much money to throw around yet they seem to end up 15th/16th every year.

You’d think they are due to have a crack at playoffs at some point.

If we do lose out on McCallum I will just trust our recruitment team to find someone better as we always seem to do. I also think it’s more down to MR/AV who seem to make average players look fantastic. We’ve seen through the years that when players leave (with obvious exceptions) they seem to fall off a cliff.

I also agree with some on here that we should be utilising 2/3 top quality loans this year to fill in gaps where needed so maybe LB is one of those spots.

McCallum, similar to Browne isn’t worth breaking the wage structure for. If Stoke want to give him silly money on a big contract let them crack on.

How often do you think teams sell players for a tidy profit, get them back on a free later, and then sell them again down the line for even more? Would be funny to sell McCallum to Norwich for 3.5 mil, have him back for free, and then sell him for a few million more in a couple years.

Yeah I really rated him when he was here why are Norwich, a team with similar aspirations to us next season letting him go on a free? I’d take him back especially on a free but I wouldn’t pay over the odds

They’ll have a huge budget to spend with a strong manager and core to the squad, should be right up there.

I doubt they're going to go against all previous behaviour which has been successful for them and spend a disproportionate amount on players. They've got a once in a lifetime opportunity to fund a significant amount of the cost of a new stadium.

The cost of which based on the link is going to be significant: Luton Town stadium river rerouting plans submitted

Luton spent years growing organically and not over spending. They've gone up to the Premiership and recruited sensibly barring a couple of big names. If those big names move on, they're still left with a very strong team. I dont understand your reasoning. Why so defensive? Greggs x
God I’ve missed you, Greggs x
