Aaarrtggghhhhh!

The UK is not short of tiny houses!

The problem is the tiny houses cost fucking loads. To reduce this we need to build more houses.

Aaaargghhhhh!

I'm not disagreeing we need to build more, but that alone won't solve it.
A 30% reduction in house prices, which wont happen, would still make them unaffordable for many young people.

But that would apply whatever the size of the home is. You are paying £250k for a room in London in some places. Do you want starter cupboards?

There’s a price per square foot based on supply and demand that you can’t get away from.

Take me. I’m not young, I can’t afford to have a family and buy in anywhere reasonable in Coventry so I’m stuck in Bedworth. I have a good income (top 10%).

If you made a four bed house affordable for me I would move, making the 2.5 bed I’m currently in available, maybe to my ex who is in a 2 bed, she moves out and you’ve got your starter home without forcing anyone to live in a shoebox.

How many levers has the Gov't pulled to help them?
And who says that it should produce a living for them and then get the the asset growth out of it,god get a grip!!

Im not arguing it should. I’m just saying whatever levers the government pulls with regard to private landlords is unlikely to solve the problem and if anything, might make it worse for renters

That is exactly how it should be - the question is whether building a shitload of 4 beds will bring the asking prices down or just make the builders richer? I hope it is the former (for your sake).

But how do you make a 4 bedroom home affordable for you? How much do prices need to drop?
I work in the construction supply chain and my 2 youngest are in their 20s so I'd be happy to see a downward adjustment in property prices alongside a large home building program as the benefits would outweigh the the loss of value against my own house but I just can't see it solving the housing crisis without other measures being introduced alongside it.

He is of course the famous socialist who once started a thread about how can he dodge paying 40% tax

Didn't you say you do work in property and seek development opps for builders?

Perhaps so, but saying he wanted to "dodge" paying 40% suggests he was doing something illegal!

Not really its just the irony of someone who wants other peoples wealth distributed but not his

Builders get rich like anyone else by building things people want. If people are buying the houses they’re building then there’s demand for them. If we increase supply then prices fall. This isn’t some wacky theory, it’s basic economic fact and we can see it in the data of the few places that have done this.

Seriously just read this piece it covers literally all the false complaints about house building:

Still trying this I see.

If you’re going to make things up, at least make them interesting.

You did not start a thread on this subject then? Also I am pretty certain you worked in looking at land acquisition and margins on expensive new homes are a lot more than small ones.......

Do you reset each night? Or perhaps sober up. We’ve been over this.

Margins on luxury builds are better yes. That’s about fit out not plot size though.

Me: here’s stacks and stacks of data proving my point.

Grendel: Ah ha! But didn’t you once ask how the tax system worked? Check mate socialist!

Lame and weak. All that attention from Boosh has weakened your troll game.

Oh dear now you are resorting to juvenile insults. We have not been over it. If you work in land acquisition for a private development you are embracing the problem, being paid for it and then moaning about how much tax you are paying on your plentiful salary.

Many on the left now see what you are. You are a hypocrite and you are about as left leaning as me.

We have been over it. I’ve explained to you before what the thread was, I’ve also explain that I haven’t ever worked in land acquisition I worked for a PropTech start up and did work for land buyers, I’ve also explained that I haven’t worked there for a couple of years and now work in home furnishings and that’s where my bonus came from. Or do you believe cushions and throws are also bourgeoise?

If it’s not sobering up, perhaps senility?

Hardly senility. All of seen from you today is whining about old people (clearly an issue there) and then cheap property and you wanting to live in a four bedroom house and somewhat angry that you can’t.

Let’s be honest you really aren’t the deep thinker you try and portray yourself as (which clearly also comes from some inferiority issues from your upbringing)

I find your politics views rather shallow and dull to be honest

Why do you always bring up people's employment/family/upbringing/general private life when a) it's none of your fucking business and b) you're pretty much always totally wrong about it?

Well why would someone accuse me of being senile or drunk? What a strange thing to say and yet oddly your batphone is on alert and here you are.

I’m not senile that’s for sure and I’m not drunk but oddly you think those comments are acceptable

If we are going to get into this haven’t you also laughed about childhood sexual abuse on at least 3 occasions - making those references directly to me?

And yet you can’t help yourself post about them constantly. Feel free to stop any time. Believe it or not I’m genuinely not interested in what your opinions of me are even after a decade of you being obsessed with me.

It’s all he’s got. He’s obsessed. Everything is about finding some perceived moral failing whether he’s talking national politicians or randoms on here. Like some weird cross between Martha from Baby Reindeer and Hyacinth Bucket.

It's the sneering and looking down on people as if they're shit on his shoe just because they do certain jobs or didn't get to benefit from low house prices like him.

Nah you give too much credit. He just finds something he knows and goes in on it. See the laughable attempts with @SBT

Anyway, he’s clearly off the wagon so back on ignore he’s gone.
