Bit late as we've already had Raphael come through the door; however, I propose a sort of FPL style guessing game in which we individually compile lists of who we think will come through the door this summer, with the winner (who gets the most correct) getting some satisfaction and internet points. Thoughts? Be allowed to have 15-20 names on the list, with the final lists being due within the next week or so. There are flaws to this game but I'm bored and want to pass the time with you lot xD

Not ITK but I heard we were in for Freddy Eastwood. Young and exciting forward that I think would go great alongside Simms

CBA tbh, because we will sign 8 players that none of us have ever heard of before that are playing in the bloody Veikkausliiga or another league unpronounceable league similar.
I would rather it this way as well, we keep getting linked with played that might be solid in this division ie Browne, but he will require a ridiculous sum of money in wages in order for us to be picked over another Championship club.

It's not sustainable and the clubs that have been promoted and have actually maintained Premier League status didn't use this a lot at all (Brentford and Brighton)

Shef United spent £15 million quid on Hamer, we all saw how that went, we bought him for a million quid and earnt £14 million in the process, Gyok was no different, Sporting might be laughing now but Sporting are a top side in the Portuguese League, Shef United are not.

We should and we will be focusing almost entirely on unknown European imports, we need to support this direction, it will keep our club in a positive position financially. If Torp ends next season having an absolute blinder, bags 12 assists and 7 goals and we don't get promoted, we either stick or sell for triple the amount we bought him.

Sustainability should be the only way, people must remember the shit show of the past and that's not to say we won't be successful next season, in fact i see us challenging for automatics, but this will not be done by signing 6 or 7 lads from the Championship that done well at a Preston North End and have ended up at our club because we offered them silly money,.

Of course the focus has to be on signings such as that, but at the same time it's adding a lot of risk because you don't know if those players will be successful at this level. They might be cheaper but if you have just one or two bad years where they don't work out and you've lost that ability to buy the next set in.

Having a small number of experienced pros that you know can hack it at this level to provide a backbone and for those players to learn from is also vital. Of course they'll be on high wages, which is why potential free transfers like Browne are important to reduce that cost. Of course even experienced players may not work out here for some reason or get injured so it's not like there's no risk but a team needs it.

We've lost Fadz, Kelly, are likely to lose Godden and possibly Bidwell so that experience is going and needs to be replaced. Sheaf is probably now at a stage where he could be classified as an experienced head but that's probably it. Allen is a squad player so doesn't really count. So it needs to be replaced and that has to be with transfers.

I think we need another striker I've always liked the look of Giorgios Giakoumasis he's currently in the MLS playing for Atlanta United scored 24 in 40 games and prior to that played for celtic and had a record of 26 in 57 not in any way saying we would get him or he'd leave the MLS but would be a great signing in my opinion
