rare home pre season game with Everton (2 Viewers)

Anyone know how we've drastically improved our pre-season games? Was it the FA Cup run?

Gone from Shrewsbury, MK Dons & Exeter to Werder Bremen, Getafe & Everton

Not doubting you as you've been dead on with the pre season fair play, but the darmstadt friendly is a bit weird isnt it if we have 2 home ones and a trip to Valencia?

valencia will be used as our summer camp. the friendly with getafe will be likely in the valencia area. unsure if it will be behind closed doors

Still find Darmstadt weird though. Why go all the way to Germany after a week in Valencia, only to come back pretty rapidly to play 2 home pre season games to round it all off

Assuming we will have the usual Leamington first friendly aswell thats surely our programme filled?

tbf Germany only a couple of hours on a plane. Will be a flying visit for 2 - 3 days. not a full on week camp like spain

The club may as well make some money off 5000 Everton fans. I doubt the demand will be that high in the home ends.

Yeah but there would still be enough room for 5000 from Everton. Maybe 15-20k in the home ends.

I can't stand Everton so i hope we just give them the new away allocation. Always loads of trouble when we used to play them at Goodison so don't want 5K scousers roaming about.

I actually think this game will attract a bigger home crowd than the WB game even with that being the Saturday.

No different really than going and playing a game in Exeter or somewhere like that. Not going to take any more out of the players energy wise and I’m sure they’ll be much more excited to go over there than play a league 2 side here

Another indicator of the progress we’ve made over the last few years, we do try to play the game the right way and that will be widely recognised, for some clubs that are maybe ahead of us in stature/league position I’m sure we would be looked on as a stiff test & good preparation for their own season ahead.

It’s all very encouraging.

Big old football club is Everton to be fair and they'd have probably been Champions of Europe in the 80s had it not been for the English Team Ban

But I think the mess they find themselves in is their own doing - They have spent millions on complete and utter shite and it has come back to bite them on the arse
