binks to sign permanently (7 Viewers)

The one big positive for Binks is that he’s only 23 in September so there’s still a lot of time for him to develop. Though I still can’t get away from the feeling that we need someone a bit better to bolster our defence, it’s just lacking that bit of quality.

So binks would be a fantastic signing and is just about to turn 23 , his stats for his first season at this level are very good , he will only improve Screenshot_20240613_125651_Chrome.jpg

Bobby thomas also did relatively well first season with scope to improve at just 23 years of age

It's kitching that had the weakest season , and needs to buck up next year , also still just 24

These lads are at an age where they can massively develop still , and by 26/27 could be worth millions

Is this confirmed or just speculation

It's just speculation, but with about a 50% chance of being right, it is an easy one for someone as clueless as Gimoc to throw weight behind in an attempt to look slightly knowledgeable and gain back some credibility should it come off.

The bloke is basically a cross between Dale Evans and Jimbo (who 'organised' the bottomless booze cruise down the Thames that never happened). A serial bullshitter and attention seeker. I'm only surprised he hasn't yet started a thread saying we're going to sign a New Zealand international playing in Serbia!

One problem with Binks is that while last year, he was a potential hidden gem, half the world has now seen his cameo against Man U. He’s been clear that he wants to leave Italy so Bologna will not want an asset tied up and not performing so I guess they’ll sell ultimately but they probably want a bidding war to start. Cannot see someone with his attributes costing less than £2m.

I’m guessing Kitching will have been told to sort himself out this summer and he needs to. But while they all have different attributes, Thomas, Binks and Kitching are all at a similar level for me. Kitching started off well with us and we are judging him after a dip. I still think it’s all to play for next season for him.

Am I the only one who thinks Kitching is a good player who just had a drop of form at the end of the season? I think he'll be much stronger next year from the experience.

Wasn't convinced about Binks until the Man U game and a few decent performances near the end. Now I am not sure. If he can cut out the annoying tenancy to give away unnecessary fouls and use his obvious passing ability more he could be useful.

Kitching’s form seemed to dip following the bullshit red card he got in December.

It's what happens with relatively inexperienced players and that's why we need more balance ie experience in the team. I think he and Thomas will be more consistent next year. However, we'll probably be looking to sell them by the end of the season if they fulfil their potential.

WHOA!!! Steady on there.

The cruise DID happen... and there was PLENTY of booze... if you wanted to pay for it 🤣🤣🤣

Great that it still gets mentioned almost 6 years on!

If MR and AV believe it is good or the team / squad then trust them. lets face it, hes already 'bedded' in so thats a bonus in itself and has saved until after Christmas in itself

I feel like Binks would be a good signing, but would Thomas, Kitching and Binks be good enough to get us play offs.. I'm not so sure.. we need another centre back after binks, preferably some experience.

I agree, whilst I think what Balli said above is true, I do still think we need a bit of something extra if we’re to aim for automatics (which needs to start being our goal if we’re to get out of this league).

Kitching's main issue is he is too slow and not agile which has been repeatedly exposed in games. I don't think this is a problem he can easily address, I fear we've overpaid in a panic on deadline day and/or Doug flexing his muscles.

From what I've seen, Binks has the potential to be a much better player than Kitching.

Id be pleased with a Binks signing as long as we don't over pay.

Kitching and Binks are very good options for LCB. Just need proper competition for Bobby Thomas and we're sorted.

Kitching from the switch to the back 4 until the bullshit sending off against Sheff W was our best defender.

After that his form went off a cliff. Can't even blame it on tiredness like a lot of the side as he played a lot less minutes.

Would like Binks to sign alongside a experienced RCB & GK to marshal the defence. Basically need the championship version of Van Dijk & Alisson to turn an average defence into an automatic-promotion one.
