I know it's really exciting that we're investing in decent players who cost a couple of million instead of freebies and loans. But I worry where the money is coming from, Doug is investing a lot at the moment and I hope we'll get promoted to pay off the investment. BUT we've seen lots of other clubs invest, be penalised with FFP and eventually go out of business.

We’ve spent what we’ve earned so far.

Very little of the spending has come from outside investment / debt.

I don’t see what Doug has invested so far in terms of signings. Maybe the renewing of the stadium he has funded? I don’t know the ins and outs, but from a transfers point of view he hasn’t invested anything that I can tell? Could be wrong though, I’m not as meticulous as others when it comes to working everything out to the pence.

Exactly and with serious figures being mooted for players and redevelopment of the training ground, where's the additional coming from?

- we won't have spent all the money upfront on the purchases over the last 12 months and some of the installments due later down the line may be covered by ongoing revenue and leaves us with some cash left in the bank currently from Gyok and Hamer sales
- €4m from Gyokeres incentives and a chance for more if he moves.
- decent extra revenue from fa cup run and wembley
- record season ticket sales and no doubt merchandise sales
- the knowledge we have saleable assets will also help

And thats without Douglas putting his hand in his pocket (pretty sure he said some of the Ryton improvements were from his own resources)

Having said all that it still wouldn't surprise me to see sheaf sold this summer as that's the blueprint for the way forwards!

Thanks for breaking this down in an informative manner, for a financial dunce like myself.
