I dropped by Aldi Radford rd after work y'day (about 6.30) to find the place cordoned off by tape. I had no idea what had previously happened.
Spoke to a couple by Beake Ave junction who told me what had happened.
They also said it involved a police pursuit although I haven't heard this detail in any other (scarce) report.
I am aware though that there is already a gofundme type appeal up and running for the lads family.
RIP little fella.

You should instantly lose your license if you’re caught going 15+ miles over the speed limit in residential areas. There is no excuse for it. Just pathetic boy racers trying to look cool.

Unfortunately a lot of these scumbag don't have a licence. 🤬

I wonder how many on this forum actually flash oncoming traffic to warn them of police speed checks ahead?

So you signed up to make an account, just to post this? Give it a rest mate.

Echo most of the comments from the others on this thread. Can't imagine what it would be like to lose a child like that. I hope the police catch this guy and it can give them some sort of closure eventually. Not that that's even comprehensible at the moment.

Hope the club can also do something. I'm sure they will.

Takes a real c**t to drive through a residential area at a speed that is guaranteed to kill

Can't knowingly do it and when it goes wrong claim it as some kind of accident

RIP to the poor lad, can we do anything special for him on the first home game of the season? I'm sure would have meant the world to him
I've seen people drive over the narrow bridge on Mile Lane where it joins Queen Isabels in Cheylesmore at 50mph. These cunts don't give a shit. Too many FF movies.

Has the family verified it is genuine? Sadly it's become pretty common for fundraisers that quickly appear after a tragedy to be a scam.
He's a well known City fan so I would imagine it would be hard to get away with scamming.
He has also been thanked by a family member another very well known City fan.

People should be going all out to make sure the characters that did this get caught.

It would be great to see them paraded around the stadium or locked in a cage on public view before a game so that city supporters could make their feelings known, but I suppose we're in the wrong age for that.

These fuckers need to be taught that actions have consequences.

Just watched 'Car Crash - who's Lying?' on Netflix. A good example of people who don't give a sh&t about anything but themselves, and appear to have no moral compass (or if they do, it's buried deep) On top of that, they must have people around them who are also prepared to cover for them (or at least lack the courage to be the one to turn them in). Let's hope they catch the scumbag (s)

Stuff like this is what concerns me over crime. Everyone wants to collar the criminal - but an overwhelming amount of people could find out it’s a loved one and be “don’t grass on your own”… even in low and tragic circumstances as this.

I get the don't grass on your own point if it's about a few stolen bits and bobs but no excuse in this case there shouldn't be anyone in the city or beyond hiding this type of behaviour the impact is too high.

Hope they throw the book at him.
These people believe they are above the law, cause shit where ever they go.

The fund now stands at 33,500 money will never replace this young lad but at least it shows the community cares.

We all need to stand together to stamp out these atrocities along with knife crime.
