If we are spending a couple million on squad players it suggests there’s a significant amount in the war chest this summer.

Binks or kitching is going to be very interesting
I feel that last season MR kept with Kitching as much as possible due to Binks being on loan. Next season he'll be far more willing to bring him in. In fact with Kitching missing the first game it's going to be Binks shirt to lose really.

Binks is so much more assured, level-headed and classy. Also able to pick out a pass. Personally, I think he's less prone to errors than Kitching or Thomas and should be the first option when it comes to our backline.

Good signing had a fairly decent season and will only improve.

Another young player on a 4 year deal and more importantly a player that doesn't need to settle in or get to know the group. Very good signing and hope we see a few more announcements before the players return to ryton.

Don’t know if it’s been asked, but I’m confused about the “subject to international clearance” part. Why would he need international clearance if he’s English?

It's not a visa or anything, international clearance is a FIFA regulation for all players who are moving to an English club from a club outside of England, including other countries in the UK, I believe

Tell me it’s not just me that thinks that’s weird?! I mean, there’s no chance they reject clearance for an English player, so what’s the point?!

Maybe, makes sense in my head anyway. It's basically a process of switching a player's registration from one football association to another, nationality doesn't really come into it. It's purely to ensure players, clubs and associations are complying with FIFA's regulations for registrations and transfers.

Very pleased with this signing, has all the attributes to be a top player. Also being a left footed player will give the defense more balance We have seen with England the lack of a left footed full back has made the team looked unbalanced.

This can’t be true because we didn’t have any loan signings last year because King wouldn’t allow them and Robins was furious about it ..:.and if we had been able to have just a couple of loans we would have been promoted … oh wait

Ipsw were in the top 3 all season…. The 2 loans we did have were not regular starters …. More loans may have helped ( depending on their quality ) but so might Robins switching systems earlier; Simms being given a run in the team earlier rather than persisting with Godden, COH and Collins form not dropping off a cliff, Posh changing their mind on EMC on the final day of the window ….. the loans thing is just a very lazy explanation for why we fell well short.
Exactly adding a couple more to a squad lacking in depth would have been pointless. Just look at Ipswi….oh wait.

We fell short to due a lack of squad depth, as demonstrated by the end of season form. From what’s been said it was very much a King policy; personally, I’d rather those kind of decisions were left to those with actual experience in the game.
