Servants can be highly paid employees
Yes that’s right. If you stop 100 people in the street and ask them what is a servant ? The most popular answer would be Highly Paid Employee ……

I think some fans confuse the idea of a diligent employee who makes a valuable contribution with a servant. They really are not the same.

I know saddle personally and he’s not making stuff up. Seen it first hand. But his contact is not a fully first hand in and around the club (edit: around but not in actually. I thought we all had guessed who it is by now) in the know so things can and do change.

Basically. He’s not making stuff up.

Looks like someone should have had a medical then… wonder who that might be if people are suggested Camara isn’t as far down the line as we thought

Burrows apparently had a medical booked at Sheffield United. Maybe it was with us instead and the gossip about who with was wrong

Terms apparently virtually agreed for him to go to Sheffield United, with just the stage payments for the transfer fee holding things up.

No loss imo, looked way of the pace in the games/highlights I watched of Peterborough. Lacks pace, poor positionally and his defending is average at best. His ability with the ball at his feet glosses over this though. I think most Championship teams will target him as the weak link in their side.

I think he's better than that but I'm not desperate to get him.

I have just looked at some YouTube footage of Ilay Camara and he certainly looks to be a promising young player that could provide cover/competition for MVE. That said, I do appreciate that a couple of minutes on highlights on YT don't give the whole picture.

Someone once looked at my highlights on YT and thought that, if it wasn't for me being too old by nearly 60 years, I could be a useful third choice left back for the Eastern Green under 12s third XI.

I was proud to be rated so highly.

There’s an issue that he can’t defend,m

Never heard of him before but really want Camara now. Would have fantastic options down the right if we get this one through.

Anybody in that mould is ideal. 21-25, decent in both defence and going forward and potentially cover multiple positions. Saw Kioso mentioned also and he is also of a similar mould, albeit less attacking.

Pissed with the club, and angling for a move he may be, but slacking in training Godden certainly isn't.

Why is he pissed off we gave him the security of a new contract which now means we control the value of the fee nobody forced him to sign that contract. He isn’t being picked as he isn’t good enough to get in the side.

Training in Kent ! Why not at a Ryton ?

Okay the penny has just dropped, he lives in Kent. 🙈

In this day and age players do a lot of pre season work to hit their return targets set by the club. They are expected to be ready to hit the ground running, none of this 2 weeks to build up fitness and lose the beer belly.

Yeah your right times have changed, so what happened last Season, with the slow start we had.

Please don't tell me that was because of playing at Wembley in the play off final, that happened in the middle of May.

Godden has been a great player in helping us get up to the Championship, for which I will always be grateful.

The truth is that we now have better options and his only future with us - if he has one - is as a squad player.

It’s probably better for the club and him if he moves on but I will remember him fondly.

No, just so many new players getting used to each other. You also had players joining from abroad, it takes time for them to sort things out for themselves and family. Also getting up to speed with English football.

In my career I have moved location various times. You can be happy but it always takes longer than you think to really settle in a new location. The transitional period of living in a hotel and looking for your own accomodations is a ball ache. If you have kids it is even more complex.

Few fans think of footballers as people with lives. They are just their Saturday football robots who just live in a Sky Blue Shirt.

The interview with the Performance Director touches on the levels of support you have to give people to perform at their best.

The lengths the British Olympic Cycling team go to, so athletes can perform at the best is an eye opener. They organize everything for them. If they are competing abroad they will even ship their bed from home to the training camp; if it means they get a good night's sleep and produce performances.
