I’d definitely take Asante, problem with him is obviously the price first and foremost, but also the fact that Simms is our no. 1 striker atm and I doubt Asante would join us just to sit on the bench nearly every game. Would be an amazing impact sub, and I that’s what we should be aiming for eventually, but I don’t think we could lure someone like him to us just yet.

This is kind of GIMOCs schtick. He’s right about one thing and then wrong about the next three. Bear in mind he’s also said a) that Hamer had signed a new deal and we were waiting to announce it with the kit last summer, b) that Sakamoto had shattered his pelvis, c) that we were making no signings in January last season and d) that Jacob Murphy and Lee Buchanan were both at Ryton when Simms signed last summer (turned out to just be Simms mates/agent). His track record is incredibly spotty.

I think GIMOC is either somewhat in the know and a lot of these potential deals fall through for whatever reason, or he’s just throwing a shit ton of shit at a wall and hoping some it sticks, I’m 50:50 on this one atm.
