Author of a great season with AJA (23 matches, 1 assist in Ligue 2), Clément Akpa (22 years old) is attracting envy.

▫️
Coventry and Norwich (Championship
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
) as well as FC Augsburg (Bundesliga
🇩🇪
) have already expressed their interest.

I love a good "rumour" that links loads of clubs to a player, still it's something

I find it a great shame how Bidwell has been treated by Robins in particular, as he is a solid , dependable pro , who lost his squad number to Milan , so nearly sent packing to Blues & finally got the position back from JDS when another X Chelsea player wasn’t up to the job .
I personally hope it’s JDS who moves on & a young inexperienced , at this level , foreign or other , can learn off Bidwell

This is elite football. It’s cut throat.

Was shown around by Adi today with BTA, Dovin and a underwhelming 25 year old British striker. Robins still golfing so couldn’t attend.

Stoke have made a ten million pound bid.

I heard he's going Sheffield United but it can't go through till the takeovers completed. 🤣🤣

These are highlights of the season before he joined Auxerre.

Guessing it won’t happen anyway but the one thing I do like about his game (albeit from one highlight reel) is the way he first looks up and tries to pick out a long range pass that gets his team back into the action rather than passing it sideways and letting the opposition set themselves defensively. Still looks a bit raw though so wouldn’t want us to be spending much on him if we did sign him.

Not heard a peep about this geezer

I know others believe they have worked out who your mole is but I haven’t a clue.

What I would say is that they seemed well
connected on existing player / club activity but pretty limited on incoming transfers ….

Not a criticism as there must be a relatively small ( but growing ) group of people in the club who do ….

He is a solid player, but if you’re a club that wants to get to the Prem, he’ll only get you so far. That’s been the story of his career with Brentford, Swansea and now us.

It’s rational that LB is an area we wish to improve. He’s also on the ‘wrong’ side of 30 so at some point, there needs to be a succession plan.

Unfortunately there’s next to no chance of JDS going anywhere anytime soon after giving him a 4 year contract.

Absolutely agree, I think there’s a lot of people on here that are very nostalgic towards the old guard of players and see them as invincible and priceless, but I think if we want to progress as a club we need to keep reinvigorating the team rather than hoping these over-30’s will somehow keep getting better.

I don’t watch City to ensure that the likes of Godden, Bidwell, McFadz, Kelly etc all have a great life playing football and live happily ever after, I watch City because I want us to be in the prem and be the very best we can be. In my view you can’t be the best if you string along ageing players, and whilst I realise there’s not bags of cash lying around, we shouldn’t be dismissive of the idea of replacing Bidwell at some point.

Robins is not sentimental and he shouldn't be, he gets paid to make decisions to win games. Bidwell, JDS, Burroughs will all have to prove they are worth a spot. I only see 1 of those 3 being at the club come Sept..

Bidwell is a decent player and an honest professional. He’s just overly idealised by our fan base - if JDS could defend well, Bidwell wouldn’t get a look in. JDS’ qualities on the ball far exceed Bidwell so can understand his line of thinking. A player who’s a blend of the two, for arguments sake, is what we should be looking for.

I think the only one we could sell would be Bidwell. Burroughs maybe or loaned out. I actually don't think Robins would want to sell Dasilva.

Yes, totally agree with that. I really can't understand how people can think he was player of the season or the view expressed yesterday by Schmmeee that left back is our strongest position.

Exactly, Bidwell is a good player and I’m sure he’ll be fine this season but he’s not getting any younger and it seems we haven’t got anyone that can do his job in the future. Like you I also think he’s overrated by the fanbase, he’s good but he’s not irreplaceable and I think we should be looking at replacements for when he inevitably starts slowing down or starts becoming more frequently injured.
