Unless this is Ade’s decision it’s a big gamble by whoever made the decision at the club.

Things have to evolve for sure and fresh ideas always helps. Reading Dawkins posts sounds like there maybe a split in the camp between people liking his methods and not. The worry is you’ll upset the old guard who are left but maybe just to sever ties and go with a fresh coaching team is the way forward. Happy with both new coaches and great to see George back…maybe he can find us a Ghanaian Ndlovu!

That’s the thing, there is no old guard left now (Allen) the squad was rebuilt last year and is continuing off pitch. Think it’s purely down to that. Said previously along as MR is aligned that’s cool. But he will be under pressure now, being given the tools, has to deliver with top 6 would say.

clear new performance director is really starting to flex muscle and shape coaching and off field.

Sheaf is old guard I would argue and that’s the only one I’m worried about for me. But as you say if robins is driving it there is no issues.

So what happens now? Do we just have the new coaching team, or do we get a new assistant manager?

Never really thought about it like this, but you upgrade the playing staff as you rise through the leagues, but we hadn't changed any of the coaching staff.

Does that mention Adi?
No but it mentioned the whole process being thorough and indicates he was very much involved in it? Weird to jump to him not being happy and pretend there was “no word” from him when that’s not true…

I mean I have no opinion on the bloke either way I don’t know him but clearly he’s mates with some of the team so he’s gonna have some knowledge. Whether it’s credible or not I don’t know.

Pretend? He has not mentioned Adi. Nothing from him on the statement released by the club.

I get your point about his involvement with the new coaches just find it very odd it’s been announced all of a sudden today without any word from Robins.

Robins barely said anything about Sisu so doubt if he's going to say anything about today. Things change and move on.

If it really is an old gaurd/new guard thing then you'd much rather have a coach that gets on with Wright/MVE/Simms etc than Allen/Godden/Wilson etc
I was thinking the same who's even left from the 'old guard' these days anyway? It is literally those 3 isn't it? And at least 2 will be gone.

Viveash was instrumental in certain signings - interesting to see what happens to them

Pretty sure this will be a Doug thing
Really hope he recognises the part robins plays in the success of the club and doesn’t over reach like many before and after him. Though not necessarily at Coventry

Yeah bet he was absolutely gutted about SISU going and all the hard work they’d put in to contribute to our success…come on he wouldn’t have a good word to say about them.

Adi been his right-hand man and a major contributor to our success and you doubt Robins will acknowledge it?

Dasilva and Palmer? I wouldn't mind at all if they were moved on but we probably have to prioritise other areas so I'd think they'll have to play a part.

I’m very surprised at this news. My major concern is who initiated the change?

If it’s MR who wants to freshen up the coaching process, then that’s fine.

However, if that decision originated with King or Claire-Marie, then it could be an issue for MR.
Love him or hate Adi, he was a very central figure both technically and culturally to the team.

Claire-Marie was in charge of the PL coach development programs & will have had built up contacts with numerous coaches. However, education programs are only that… it’s applied knowledge that counts.
Let’s hope it works out.
Why do people keep dragging the lady into this? She is essentially head of the medical/sports psychology department, right? Firing the assistant manager seems a bit of a reach.

Isn’t she the performance director? She’s basically in charge of putting in place the building blocks for Robins to succeed? I’d say she’s got a big say in how the coaching staff needs to do their jobs.

don’t take this as me against her - in fact I’m the opposite, really impressed with the article last week, and I really think she’s going to help massively

That is her new job title (I think she has been with the club a while) but from the publicly available information it sounds like a jazzy way of saying she does the modern 'sports science' bit. Obviously that could potentially bring her into conflict with an assistant manager that thinks he knows better but it seems highly unlikely she alone would make the decision to remove him. Far more likely to be Robins imho.

Blimy, wouldn't be City without some drama happening. Like others, just hope this isn't going to influence MR in any negative way. Hope the new coaches can fill in and do a decent job.

I totally get if it's been a case of Adi being a bit old school and the club need a different mindset to get us to the next level, but lets not forget that he's been a big factor in our upturn over the last few years. Wish him well and hope his next venture is as good.

Could it just be that Adi fancied a break for a year? He told the club at the end of the season, and they decided to announce his departure and the new coaches at the same time. Players would have been told weeks ago.
Dennis Lawrence left to take an Assistant Manager role, and to be closer to his family which are US based.
Probably too boring…

That’s fine - but it appears we’re starting to act like elite clubs, we’re trying to maximise the performance of our currently players.

if it’s true Vivaesh’s methods don’t sit well with our newer players - it may be time to move on. The methods needed in league two and one are massively different to those to get to and stay in the prem.

I’d hazard a guess that we’ve starting going down an avenue that most prem sides and promoted sides have in place

So Viveash is a Dinosaur then. 🦖

All will become clear but i doubt Robins will be talking about Adi or much about the 2 new coaching staff. He is on a no win with that conversation and would be wise to thank Adi and say he looking towards the new season.
