Lati gets a rough ride. He's competent if unspectacular. That's what you expect from a squad player. Plus he's still young enough to improve. It's not practical to have ~25 top quality players in a Championship squad.

I agree.

He’s a decent player. I think his development is being held back by being used as cover in multiple positions, although that was useful to us with a thin squad.

It may be that, with more strength in depth for the coming season, we can do without him but I don’t have a problem if he stays.

His cause hasn't exactly been helped by being used in so many positions.

We are lucky to have a player who gives us so many options from the bench, and is professional enough to not spit his dummy out when he doesn't get a run in his favoured position.

Players like Lats are a managers dream, and every squad needs one.

Wasn't there also talk that he was playing with an injury at the end of the season? I thought he started quite well and is better than many in here say. However, I wonder whether our change of formation suited him.

Yes, he was - MR confirmed it, but memories are short on here.

For a good few seasons we’ve been crying out for a utility player who can fill in a couple of positions as cover, and as unspectacular as Lati is, he did that last season.

I genuinely think that some fans have blurred the line between the reality of football, and the expectation of a seamless simulation in Football Manager.

This is what I think every time I see someone talk about Lati not being up to it. He was considered to be one of our better signings towards the start of the season...

He lost his CB position (mostly due to being right footed?) and was then in and out of the team doing a job in RB, CDM and CB roles. Then played through an injury to finish the season.

This is the sort of commitment and leadership we sorely need! IMHO he's been written off prematurely

I thought it said the opposite and that we had cooled interest and moved our attentions elsewhere due to wages
Well it said the initial issue was that we wanted a loan but talks have taken place so that seems to have shifted. However, wages could be an issue.

We have probably had our fill of news for a day or two now. It will be a miracle if we have anything to gush about this week, although the article says our interest has cooled and we have switched our attentions elsewhere. It also says we are after a leader type figure. Alan Browne also fits that mould and has just become confirmed as available on a free

Ffs mate, what part of " the club switching their attention to other options" made you think that this was back on?
Oh for Christs sake...
The article says that the Loan/Buy obstacle has been overcome as talks have taken place.
But that wages appear to be an issue. But as we all know, wages are negotiable.
Just read it properly.

I did read it, hence the quote! Wasn't that a big enough clue for you?

It also says Forest prefer a sale rather than a loan, and his wages are an issue.
So obviously you read that and expect an announcement at 5pm 🤣🤣🤣

You failed to include the word however which appeared shortly afterwards in the article.
Anyway, I'm too busy for a chat with the cerebrally challenged, so let's leave it there.

I didn't say it was imminent.
Only that the Loan/Buy issue seems to be resolved.
Wages are negotiable.

I know you didn’t but it worries me, given that there is competition for him, that we will miss out if we don’t get a move on.

Perhaps we are waiting for some sales to go through before we can move.

Not that I disagree with you, as I think it’s a bit steep for a CB coming towards the end of his career, but I think he’s probably better than the £4m we spent on Kitching and he does have all the qualities we need. I’m torn on this one atm.
He's 27!!

Despite that, he have spoken to the player, which implies that our reluctance to buy, or Forest's reluctance to loan, have changed, otherwise, why bother talking to the player?
That's the whole point of him regurgitating the story.

Are you really that thick? Go and ask one of your teachers to read it for you.

Is English not your first language or are you mentally challenged?
