Yep 2.0 Skoda Octavia estate suits me just fine. Over 60 to the gallon and £25 road tax per year.

I worked at Gaydon in the compound for a year or so, basically just parking cars and getting them for the transporters. They used to nearly take off.

An 18 year old in one of those in a car park was mental, looking back.

I like classics from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, I could fill a warehouse so too many to mention. If I win the lottery the only new(ish) car I’ve promised myself is an Ariel Atom 3.5. Drove them a couple of times on driving experience days, the best fun you can have on 4 wheels without buying a van with a bed in the back.

I ride motorbikes so there’s them too. Have a soft spot for 4 cylinder air cooled Japanese bikes. A Honda CB400/4 and a early air cooled GPZ 750 please.

You don't really need to touch the accelerator to move from stopped. Just tick over is about 10mph

I loved my Hinkley Triumph 900 Daytona. Not really a sports bike but a great tourer (based on the Kwak triple). The Suzuki TL1000 was a great bike but didn't suit the wife as a pillion. KTM have produced some great grunty motors

285 degree crossplane crank twins, KTM are the only company making them pretty much and apparently it’s the optimum degree on a crank for a parallel twin. Most modern parallel twin are 270 for mass production and cost. Not tried a KTM but heard they’re the nuts.

I drive a Suzuki Swift these days but going back 20 plus years I had Golf GTI's found them plenty fast enough and bullet proof engines.... ashamed to admit I've attended three drivers awareness courses in the past... always for being very slightly over a 30 mph speed limit
