I really hope Sheaf stays. But, every player has his price and I believe we have put quite a high price on him. If it is met by a Prem team, he leaves, simple as that. They do pay stupid money for players these days, so we will have to wait and see.

Sheaf was playing in League 1 the season before he came to us...

But you’re asking someone that’s got little experience or quality at this moment in time to perform one of the biggest roles on the pitch.

Sheaf has had chance to grow into his role with support of others around him over a number of years, and I think I’m right in saying the year he first came to us we had only just got promoted to the championship (I could be wrong there tbf), so we weren’t looking to gain promotion into the prem, just simply stay up. Where we are now is completely different to where we were when Sheaf first came to us. I personally think we can’t rely solely on young League 1 players to fill the boots of Sheaf, it’s too crucial of a position.

What does little quality at this moment mean? He's an excellent player, there's a reason we've asked for an option.

Little quality compared to Sheaf, it’s a big downgrade.

How have we fell into this argument? 😂 I think everyone on this forum can agree, let’s just try and keep Sheaf and not get Kyprianou.

Still think there’s money to spend regardless if Gyokeres goes. Remember the Haji transfer come out of nowhere, the reported £9m bid on Rollheiser in Jan and then the Stamenic bid.

No i don't agree that we shouldn't get Kyprianou, it would be a good signing. But i agree we should try and keep Sheaf... although if someone wants to offer £20 million plus then fair play.

Ah right, sorry I thought you were saying you’d prefer to sell Sheaf and use the money to buy Kyprianou, was gonna say 😂😂 If we do sell Sheaf then I think we should buy someone better than Kyprianou though.

Really? We’ve already spent £7m and have signed three permanent players. Maybe the memory of free transfers if we were lucky and loans from teams now a division below us is still too vivid for me to be bored by that.
People don't seem to realise it takes longer to sign players teams want to keep and other teams want to sign.

And it's taken him 4 years to reach the level he is at now, not saying it's a bad strategy but it's the reality of signing players from lower leagues in the majority of signings
Sheaf was really good almost immediately, only morons couldn't see it, which is why i don't fuss myself with the opinions of other fans too much. He is better now yes, but he was still good.

A signing would do wonders for the sanity of this thread.
