Why? Sakamoto was arguably our best player in the period before his injury, and EMC usually plays on the left doesn't he? I don't see why he'd drop Sakamoto.
That is true, but the club has high hopes for EMC who looks to be our marquee signing. My gut feeling is that Sakamoto will develop into a super sub player for us.

EMC could even be our number 10 with Rudoni and Sheaf behind him and Eccles on the bench.

Whatever way we decide to play it's great to have such quality options.

I suspect that is right given how much we paid for EMC, although like with Simms Robins might want to give him time to adapt. Also let’s not forget he has never played at this level.

EMC won’t replace Tats as a starter if Tats comes back with the form he left with.

EMC will start as a sub unless they feel Wright needs more time to catch up after his International stint …

EMC will take time to adjust to the step up …

Tats hasn’t played since Feb so there will be match fitness to consider too. Yes, he’ll have pre-season to get to speed but his starting point will be behind the rest of the squad.

We won’t know until 10th August but you’re not not starting your marquee signing.

Nah I think Robins will like having the luxury of not having to start him. I’m sure he’ll be first off the bench though.

Either way it's a good problem to have. Let's face it at the end of the season we had to play MvE and Eccles out if position on the right of the attack.

I can genuinely see Palmer going if we go 433

If we do have to play with a 10 on occasion, Rudoni and EMC Can play there and play it well

Getting a few quid in for him, and 1 of the keepers would be nice to put towards another midfielder

I don’t mind palmer as a game changer off the bench

Torp isn’t a a CDM.

I think Torp could be a big player for us this season but if he is it will be as an 8. I’m still not convinced we will play with a 10 this season, it could well be 2 8’s.

I think that's more likely than playing with a 10. Though we might vary it depending on the opposition.

well I assume his comments about Rapha plus Saka having had so long out mean there’s a good chance Rapha starts, and Rudoni / Torp and EMC / Rudoni are probably the only other question marks, but sure, why not?
I don't see us playing a 10 this season , all the talk has been a holding player with two 8s in front . I would imagine at the moment the 3 would be Eccles holding with Sheaf and Rudoni in front .

if that’s the case then surely it’s Sheaf holding with Torp and Rudoni, but then what’s the point of spending money on a top quality left forward / 10 to sit on the bench?

Eccles isn’t a holding midfielder good enough to play there on his own, I’d be worried if he is the sole holding midfielder

I'm not getting into the Eccles argument and I suppose we are starting to buy players to add to squad depth . See Rodriguez , Binks, Torp and EMC as examples of that . I know it's not what we've been used to for many years but if we are going to get promoted it won't be with free transfers and loanees

Palmer won't go, although we do need another CDM, as Torp & Allen can't play there.

I don't think it's going to matter who starts and who doesn't in the wing positions next season. We're going to have 4 good options and Robins will play whoever is freshest to keep our high tempo up

He'll chop and change them all to keep them fresh. Kind of like he did in the League 1 title winning season with the top 2 of the box alternating between Shipley, Westbrooke, Allen and O'Hare
