I know what you mean but JDS is pretty bad defensively and Bidwell is not the quickest. If you compare our RB side to the LB side it’s night and day.
Dasilva is a useful squad player. Good to bring on if we're chasing a game (e.g Man U game) and a perfect fit for the LWB position, and can play WF if we're looking to go more solid.

There's been a weird mindset on here since we fell away at the end of the season with players like Collins and DaSilva being totally written off by some and even players like Kitching as well .
When we were flying and during our cup run , all three performed very well . Shame some damn players so easily

Reckon we could loan Obikwu to Peterborough, I’d love him to be an option off the bench for us but maybe they could develop him like they do for all their forwards
I think he’ll go out on loan again but not to the top end of league 1. Could probably do with another season in league 2 playing regular minutes.

Move on Dasilva, simple
With 3 years on his contract I cant see anyone taking him. £1.5m left of his contract at £10k/wk.
If he's underperforming here who else takes that risk?

I'd love to see an upgrade, MvE 2.0 on the left, but we can't magic a sale. In the hope im proven wrong, I doubt our LB pair is changing this summer.

Side note, Binks (has been reported by capology to be)* on £30k, he needs to step up and really perform this season. Looked decent last year but now he needs to prove he's worth that much cash.

Is he on 30k? I doubt that surely

Binks was on 30k at Bologna not here no chance thats our top earner by far, pretty sure Haji is on 23k

No way is Binks on 30K a week.

DaSilva didn't have the best season but there were spells when he played well .
Bidwell isn't slow and is arguably one of our most consistent performers .
There are other areas we need to strengthen before we look at positions with enough cover already

I agree with the last statement, hence why I replied to Saddle using brackets and a wink emoji, but I do think Bidwell is just a little bit slow for this level. He can cross the ball well but he doesn’t get forward or take players on that often, and defensively he can be exposed for pace against quick wingers.

I think EMC will tear right backs apart this season , he's one of the most exciting players we've signed in a long time . So there won't be the same pressure on Bidwell to get forward as much

So you don't think he overlaps when Haji invariably cut's inside?

Well that’s bollocks isn’t it. Bidwell does get forward. There’s some weird revisionist shit that goes on with Bidwell getting forward for some reason. Also, I’d quite like to see a few examples of him getting exposed by these quick wingers.

It gets mentioned by some on here and after a while it becomes gospel .

Yeah I agree with you there, I still just worry he can be done for speed against tricky wingers. He’s a real tenacious bloke and clearly gives his all, I’m just hopeful that we can get a LB equivalent of Van Ewijk in at some point, whether it’s this summer, January or next summer.

I am a bit concerned that we’re going to struggle to fit Wright and EMC into the same side which isn’t ideal when we’ve spent a combined £12m+ on the two of them.

He does do that, not saying he never attacks, it’s just not that often. A lot of our attacks have been reliant on Wright and Simms doing something special, either individually or together, ideally the whole team contributes to those attacks not making the striker or winger create and score the chance between them.

Why is that a concern? You buy players to compete if you want success , strength in depth is a must as we saw to our cost last season
