Something happening at the club that's very different (2 Viewers)

Keane left Islael at end of the season, so currently out of work. Strachan is first team coach at Celtic but as said above has lots of ties still down here.

Certainly never dull with King in charge. I imagine he is a hard taskmaster and will want promotion and better returns in the cups than earlier seasons when we did not take them seriously. Obviously, last season in the FA Cup was the exception.
There have been enormous changes behind the scenes and King will expect the new people to deliver.
If we can keep Sheaf and our top players, and they can stay largely injury free, with a few additions, on paper, we look a good bet especially at 16-1.
You always need a bit of luck but not dropping points to Preston, Swansea and Bristol City would help.
The three relegated clubs will be near the top along with Leeds, Middlesborough and West Brom. All the mid-table sides that started poorly last year got better and will be harder to beat.
Can't see another Ipswich this year and think things will be back to normal with the promoted sides. Plymouth putting Rooney in charge is gift to any side fighting relegation.

The club transformation since DK has taken over is immense. OK last season didn't quite live up to the previous season's in terms of league finish, but even if we had been promoted in 2023 were not ready. This season feels different and we have our best chance. Lets embrace it while we can.

I’m not saying they need replacing we need 2/3 players adding without people leaving. Squad depth is something we’ve been missing as well so to go up we need those extra bodies in my opinion.
Yeah fully agree with you there, we need a real top quality CM, GK, back up ST and eventually LB and RB backup, that obvs won’t be all this window but imo I feel like that’s what we need in order to be a complete squad.

I’ve heard strachan is interested. Gordon and his younger brother still live down here.
I'm excited to hear who we get. I think this will also tell us a lot about whether our new found "professionalism" in the backroom and Ryton are sufficient to attract quality coaching staff.

I feel that Robins and Doug are grasping the nettle with this being our best chance for many years - putting a structure in place for us to win this league ! Going to be a roller coaster of a season and I’m in 🤩

I'll be extremely, (and pleasantly), surprised if we're a serious contender for the autos.
Personally I just can't see why some people are thinking we will be.

Personally I still think we are 4 players short, yes our squad looks a good one at the moment but only takes a couple of long term injuries and we are weakened a lot. Still need a midfielder, right sided defender, and definitely a striker and I mean a decent one who can come on and replace Simms if needed. And in my opinion a attacker midfielder (No 10) is needed as Palmer not good enough goes missing too often.... I don't think we need a new keeper either but looks like we are getting one.

Not sure if we have the budget for that many players but in my opinion we need a new keeper and striker.

Surely it's either or for CM and a 10? Rudoni is either the 10 or the CM? If we signed both of these we'd have Sheaf, Rudoni, Palmer, Eccles, Torp, Allen, New CM & New 10 competing for 3 places in the 11.

With the signs pointing to a 4-3-3 this season a CM is much more important than 10 imo.

What makes you think we have'nt got a chance ? sort of see what happened in the last two seasons - with a new team and pitch problems and i think we start well and we have every chance- of course Injuries normally are the issue but we all need a slice of luck

Squads just not strong enough for me, and I think people are underestimating the 3 teams coming down.
I expect us to be in the play off shake up again.

Injuries are inevitable so we'll need 3-4 more players to have a proper go at top 6 this season. Our issue has always been depth.

I agree. I think it would take a lot for us to get to that level. We have a strong team but lack that extra bit of class that we had with Hamer and Gyokeres. I don’t know but I don't think we can afford to buy that level of player, and it seems we aren't going to consider loans.

Rudoni and EMC are going to be very good for us . Can see us playing at a lot higher tempo and more direct .
I'm not sure we will be pushing for Autos but with a couple more in then we won't be far away with a more settled , dynamic squad

So much can happen in this transfer window and across the season and we have no idea how strong other teams will be so it's a bit pointless making too many predictions. I just think we are quite a lot short of having a team/squad to challenge for the autos as matters stand. Hopefully I am wrong.

Looks like Wilson has/is going to Norwich on a season long loan, shame I’d love him back if only for 1 season.
i think that the policy of buying our own and improving is the best in the long run but think Wilson is class and worth bending the rules for.

Norwich are properly going for it-they really will be in autos contention. We should be aiming for the playoffs assuming that the remaining gaps in the squad are sorted.

Yes Callum. Think Norwich will be in amongst it but don’t think they will get automatic, but like others have said luck injuries etc so hard to predict.
