Brum moving mad right now. Mint owners which include Tom Brady have spunked over 13m in transfer fees for top class players. I can’t see them not running away with the league, doing a bit of a wrexham offering absurd wages for the level.

Safe to say it’s a very good thing they went down
Tbf although I still don't fully understand the spending rules at that level, FFP will stand in their way back here. They aren't the only team who want to chuck money at it, hence the likes of Hull, West Brom etc wanting a rule change.
Teams who make smart signings and can flip players for much more than they bought them for will be the main challengers to parachute wankers, and we are one of the best.

As for League 1…hoping Birmingham and Wrexham tank their seasons and Liam Kelly guides Rotherham to the title. I noticed Disney FC and the Peaky Blinders asking permission to play their games in the US.

Get them both in the bin.

Absolute pair of cringe clubs. Add them to the list.
Birminghams owners are particularly embarrassing. Pretty sure they only bought them because of Peaky Blinders, which is weird.

i've a feeling Disney FC will find it particularly hardthis season, League 1 is a very, very big step up from league 2 which is to be fair much of a muchness with the Conference.

Spent a lot of money but not seeing a huge amount of value there, albeit with the caveat that some of the levels their signings have been playing at are substantially higher than L1.

Klarer looks an interesting one, reasonable on the ball but question marks defensively - never ideal for a CB although how much of it is weighted by being in a dreadful team?

Willumsson is someone I’ve had a glance at before for us, but rather unimpressive.

Hansson again is decent enough and will probably do very well in L1, but can’t imagine there will be much more beyond that.

Cochrane I like, but they now have him and Buchanan as LB options. Unless Buchanan is off or is moving to CB it seems a strange move.

Of the 2 keepers there’s definitely more upside to Peacock-Farrell, but actually spending money on 2 keepers is bizarre.

Of course, there is no PSR/FFP in L1 so they’re managed via the SCMP (think it’s 60% of turnover can be used on wages). However, when they come back up, and they probably will, any excess spending will count towards their 3-year average for PSR in the Championship (I don’t actually think it’s called PSR in Champ but can’t remember).

To have spent circa £10m on those, however, is pretty garbage.

Yeh I agree, they should be too good for league 1 but I'm not really seeing the value of these players when they return to The Championship and they'll all be on pretty decent contracts.

I think they are taking a big gamble, but with all their plans for a massive new stadium, they really can't afford not to bounce straight back up.
It would be hilarious if they fail.

I only realised recently they are still majority owned by that bloke they hate. Thought the yanks bought it all.

Yeah, as has been said it makes no sense as if they go up they'll have loads of players on expensive contracts who they probably would need to upgrade on for the next push. They'll need to move on players on wages that no one else would want to pay for them.

Wrecsam should be close as spent solid and wisely and have experience and momentum. I'd say pushing for final play off spot. However their manager Parkinson and his jumped up little side kick assistant will soon be out of their depth tactically. Documentary shows Parkinson calling players idiots in pressure situations and I think he has no idea about building team spirit like our Mark.
Moment things start to go wrong their fans start bed wetting..... but all clubs have that as we al here well know.
They are allegedly £5m in debt already but their fans think they are walking league 1 and will soon be in Premier League playing in their 55k stadium.
🤣🤣🤣

Mid table. This will be what I call the Salford season.

If Blues fans choose to be excited then fair enough, I guess that's what being a football fan is all about. But it's just how embarrassing they are that comes along with it. Completely lick the chairman's arse even though he lead them to league 1. Now online saying great work by the recruitment team on these news players... again players they've not seen play bought in by the same recruitment team that saw them relegated.
The new stadium stuff is complete shit, I don't see it happening and if it did it would be a white elephant. Imo the yanks are more interested in property development than Blues. I guess time will tell but thats how it looks from the outside.

They were all loving last seasons recruitment as well (as were some folk on here) and look were that got them.

That's my feeling, there's some big clubs in that league this season.
Think the Wrexham 'project' is more interesting long term than whatever Blues have got going on as due to who their owners are they have access to other revenue streams.

Yeah, i do wonder how a meh mid table season could effect that though. Losing 3-1 aay at Oakwell on a Cold Tuesday night isn't great TV.

I think people underestimate just how much money Wrexham are making and just how big they are in the States. Fully expect to see them in the Championship within the next few years and maybe even the Prem within the next 7-10.
