Safe Standing and Segregation (10 Viewers)

The new segregation barriers look great. Looks like away fans will be given at least 3000.

When you see it in action, it really does show how ridiculous it was not having the standing areas further round. That section in Block 15, closest to 14 always has and always will be a standing area.

They should have gone an extra block in the South Stand too.

Well I remember the crying from most of block 15 when the away fans moved so the club probably assumed they would want to be next to them as they kept telling us.

True, that's why I moved to the South Stand.

Safe standing, great view and by the 3000 away fans.

Until sitting is enforced.

3000 will be standard away allocation this season I believe.

Which is good news.

2400 of whatever it was towards the end wasn't enough. 3000 will help the atmosphere, fill a few seats that would have previously been segregation and earn the club a few extra quid.

Sitting won’t be enforced. That safe standing zone doesn’t cover for half the amount that usually are stood, it’s that daft it’s almost pointless.

The stewards won't go in hard but you'll start to see a few more posts from the club.

Hopefully there won't be the strict enforcement that's been seen at the likes of Forest where they've made examples of people by banning them for persistent standing.

Why wouldn’t there be strict enforcement after a few warnings? The investment has been made in safe standing which hasn’t sold out. Why bother doing that if the status quo of breaches of stadium and EFL-regulations Is to be tolerated.

There will be a reason or reasons why the safe standing area wasn’t put in Singers Corner. Perhaps @Sky Blue Pete could enquire?

Is the reason why all standing tickets haven’t been taken up the possibility of having to move for cup matches? This would happen if the 15% rule was applied. However, that rule can be overridden if the safety group raises objections on safety grounds. Depending on how the concourse arrangements have been set up, that would surely be a possibility.

Its because our fans are idiots. We saw this coming since it was announced. The reasons people were giving were ludicrous.

Just wrong

I am going to find the outrage on here/twitter/facebook etc about enforcing sitting highly amusing.

Some fans just don't want to move.
There will be a lot of trouble trying to get fans to sit down in seating areas.
We had a few alterations in block 16 due to fans not sitting down at the front. Stewards did fuck all.

It will be pretty easy to manage really. They will use the CCTV to identify which seats aren’t being sat in and cancel the STs for those seats whilst offering a one time opportunity to transfer to the safe standing areas.

nah, Doug has employed a sniper to sit in the west stand and eliminate persistent standers

That will be harder to do than it sounds. Some people will be standing because those in front of them are. I say that as someone in B16 who wants to sit. I would likely appear on the cameras as someone standing in my seat but it's not through choice most of the time. I have considered moving seats but I like mine and now safe standing is available, I shouldn't need to.

The club asked where we wanted the safe standing, then ignored the wishes of the responders. The obvious answer is just to extend the safe standing further round.

It will be a distraction if they enforce anything… can’t help it if people stand up when they can’t see the game. It’s not a problem at away games although the stewards think we are up for trouble.

The survey was before they moved the away need so is largely irrelevant.

They can just roll it out from the front to the back. Easy peasy.
