One thing I noticed last night is how big we were as a team. Especially you swap Allen and Sakamoto for Sheaf and Wright. Thomas and Binks are tall, Bidwell is a good height for a fullback. Eccles Sheaf Torp and Rudoni are all 6ft ish. Simms and Wright are both roughly 6ft3 and EMC looks a real unit.

It’s definitely been a focus in the recruitment. All the best teams in the world don’t have many players below 6ft. It should mean we score a few more from set pieces hopefully, especially after some of Rudonis deliveries this pre-season.

I remember my old boss talking to me about the city during the last season at highfield road.
Big baggy kit, no real units, and he said how he thought they looked like kids when they ran out of the tunnel. ‘Get them on the steak and Guinness and in the gym’ he’d say.
can’t really say that now.
