I get it's a business and it needs to make money, I am all for that but don't push away the next generation. I also get it's about cutting down on people taking the piss with kids tickets but there were other ways to go about it.

Fair enough. If that's his biggest mistake so far and he's changed plans based on feedback, I'm not worried but I hear you.

My lad was born here in Spain but is 100% City despite the Spanish side of the family being from Madrid. Two years ago we came over with two of his mates to watch a game and this last season there were five of them.
We're just planning something now for the new season and there are at least twelve lads wanting to come over. We were at the last home game of the season and a couple of them were literally in tears when they heard the crowd sing "We'll live and die..." They said that they've never experienced anything quite like it.
They all bought the shirts and wear them proudly over here. When you see the sheer enthusiasm of these kids and how it piques the interest of their mates despite the fact that they're spanish, it doesn't surprise me how this is snowballing locally.

I noticed some Asian people, not meaning to sound racial and I apologise if I do, that were obviously Muslim, by the ladies dress code. Never seen ladies wearing head scarves etc there before.
It’s great to see IMO. It is, and should be a game for all to enjoy.
How could that be construed as 'racial'?
Why are you tiptoeing around an observation?

Let’s not berate someone being cautious about referring to the race and religion of our fellow fans - there’s plenty of people amongst our fanbase and beyond who aren’t careful enough!
I'm not 'berating' him - I was asking a genuine question.
Seems a little odd that some people feel the need to offer an advanced apology when I don't think there is a need.
That's all 🤷‍♂️

Not exactly an accurate benchmark, but I've happened across a lot more City tops. logos in my local Tescos in Warwick over recent months, and on the streets of Leamington - great to see.

It’s brilliant to see, just the other day 2 polish employees at my place of work approached me asking if me and my brother will take them up. not sure what game to introduce them to but making a day of it, town , casino, game town. One even asked me today if there’s anywhere he can buy a shirt and bucket hat before we go as he’s seen my Wembley pictures on FB. I explained you don’t need to wear that to attend.

what I love most is people are taking an interest again, my mum ( big 70’s era attendee) and my dad ( hated football) who are both in there seventies plan there weekends around watching on there dodgy firestick. I know they ain’t at the CBS but to get my old man to watch a cov game I actually thought I’d never see. hes even upgraded the broadband to eliminate buffering 😂

The potential has always been there. Its a big city with one club and also has most of Warwickshire as a catchment area... the problem has always been that for God knows how long it was a club spiralling down and down. This growth is great to see and honestly if we got to the Prem i wouldn't be surprised if demand was there for a few thousand more seats.
There are some proper weirds in Warks though.
A friend of mine who was born and bred in Leam professes to be a Villa fan.
Fckn eejit.
OK, he splits his time between Greece and Somerset nowadays, but still, no excuse for it.

Mind you, I know a few other CCFC fans here in Leics, and I bet they get similar reactions from the six-fingered mules 😉

Oh there's defo Villa fans in Warks, thats normal though, Villas pull is spread further across the midlands than the other midlands clubs.

I don’t live in Coventry and haven’t for a long time. I went to the Memorial Park with kids and grandkids recently. I was amazed at how many kids were wearing City tops. It’s something to be proud of, how far this club has come. Looking forward to seeing even more shirts this year!
I live in Leicestershire (just - Burbage) and I would say that Coventry tops outnumber Leicester tops now

Haven't noticed that tbf. There's a young lad down the road that almost seems to live in Sky Blue though, but I still see more Leicester tops. (Hollycroft).

Stratford seems to have a surprisingly large number of Villa fans.
I've lived in the Rugby area for he last 18 years and it's pretty much all Coventry City tbh, see loads of young kids in Cov shirts.

That brought a tear to my eye. Lovely.

Lots people I went to school with in the late 80’s never seemed bothered by the city or even football but now they have season tickets and proudly own the shirt.

I grew up in Kenilworth and it was always mainly Cov but defo still a Villa presence, as well as your usual glory supporters you get everywhere.

I wonder if the people I commented about above have found it easier access with the ground being in the Holbrooks area, imagine if we were at Hr we would have a waiting list to get in if the numbers were near to the current
