If you had a relative trapped in that hotel while people had it surrounded, were trying to break in to get at the occupants and were trying to set fire to it would you be saying there's nothing to worry about its just a broken window?

Absolutely not

If your Jewish relatives were amongst this lot would you be saying there is nothing to worry about?

There was never any evidence that austerity killed anyone.

The metric used to claim it was based on the fact we have an aging population. That will continue, and it will look like the death rate will continue to grow over the next few years.

Labour will have to own that given what they've said over the years

You are mental. You've literally just given an example of how austerity could kill someone, (withdrawing the fuel allowance), then said there's no evidence austerity kills any one.

Yup.

Water canons at least.

People could die in that building.

Just hoping it was empty, or the ones that did get in, didn't actually attack anyone.

Like I said, all riots are wrong. Protests are fine, but I can never condone a riot.

Even when I was dead set against the poll tax. I still hated seeing riots

you said earlier you were not sure what the July riot in Leeds was about
[/QUOTE]
I did. People on here weren't even certain of which community.

Doesn't make it not wrong though

Was it just the Roma community rioting?

I was saying it was muddied.

Can't believe so many people are surprised by what's going on .. I'm certainly not

Not sure what that has to do with things but no I wouldn't.

What's your plan, every side in any dispute, be it BLM, Palestine, anti-semites, EDL, MDL etc etc just keep trying to one up each other?

A certain previous criminal PM was happy to ‘let the bodies pile high’ in the name of the economy. He never had to own that last time I checked.

I said it wasn't a valid argument then and I don't think it is now

I can’t stand any rioting, but I do have more.. ‘understanding’ I guess for the catalysts for them- BLM due to a black man being murdered by a policeman, and Palestine is obvious.

Here you have a young man born in Wales with no link to Islam (from what I know anyway) murdering kids, yet you have thugs- and yes they are far right- attacking mosques, immigration centres and police and coming out with all kinds of racist & xenophobic tropes. I have no understanding of this apart from that its brain-dead racists being stoked by shadowy social media voices to go out and express their odious views & smash stuff up.

So condemning riots? Definitely, they should all face consequences- however I have a clearer understanding of the catalysts for some more than others.

Is that allowed?

I'm part Jewish. If I wanted to go to my own capital city over the last few months I'd have to hear about how I should die.

Are you suggesting I should just forget about that?

I'm sick and tired of double standards

All riots are wrong. Only some get called out it seems
No im not suggesting you should forget about that. Has anything I’ve said suggested that?
I’d just to be able to discuss what’s happening this week without half the posts being “but the left”.

My plan is we police riots consistently.

All riots are wrong.

I'm calling out the right wing ones. I expect you to call out the left wing ones

A lot of this violence could be abated if the far right grifters or even just right wing grifters like Farage publicly called for it to stop. But they won’t.

Why not?

That wouldn’t stop it

I'm not

Surprised at some of the comments on here though.

Not enough condemning and too much focus on supposed two facedness.

Surely everyone has to condemn all this. Some can't seemingly even bring themselves to do that and just want to justify WHY it has happened.

Even if there is justification for people to feel they are not listened to, this is not the answer

Lot of people calling for water canons, we don't actually have any in this country do we? I'm sure when Johnson bought some after the London riots they ended up being sold for scrap because they can't be legally used in this country.

Even if emergency measures could be brought in to allow their use where are we getting them from?
yeah, you'd have to change the law to be allowed to use them

What did Edward Colston have to do with a racist, corrupt police officer?

I’ll tell you why else it’s an issue, it’s one of the tactics of the Russian bots, it’s not aimed genuine discussion.

It's actually trying to start a genuine discussion.

Are you really trying to compare somebody on here asking why somebody else has a different view on something when you just change the demographic with russian bots?

Where have you been the past few evenings where you have certain people acting like bots posting every tweet they can find to get people worked up and high five each other after sly remarks. Same people either nowhere to be seen or actually justifying the behaviour for other riots.

It's because "enough is enough."

Obviously

In a protest, none. Why are you asking?

We've been busted boys, let's make a run for it back to Moskva before djr tells Sir Keir "MI6" Starmer that he's uncovered a Russian bot farm on SBT.

not sure how thats relevant tbh. doesn't have to be Syria, can be any country.

How many people coming to claim asylum do you think would be successful at a visa application interview in convincing the person interviewing them that they were coming over for a holiday. Do you think they'd be able to provide the name and address of who they were planning to stay with, show a means of return to their home country etc?

Also I'm curious, your posts seem to imply that your issue is not with asylum seekers, merely with their method of entry. If they all came over by plan on holiday visas would you have no issue?
I would have no issue with them as individuals

If your first act on UK soil is to break the law, then I have a problem with them

There was no austerity at that time. He spent shitloads

I pointed out the hypocrisy of some people and how they shit themselves when they get asked things directly that might contradict their latest view.

You mean the slave trader? You know full well.

Anyway this is one rabbit hole I won’t be going down.
See, this is the problem. You want an explanation of the causes of these riots, but not prepared to give one for the BLM riots

Just cracking on with my life. Sorry for not being on here every evening. I can’t reply to every post I just replied to a couple where I had something to add.

If there were people in that hotel when those thugs tried to set it alight then they should be charged with attempted murder.
