I've tried numerous parking options at the CBS over the years, but with a 160 mile trip for each game, quick access/exit from the stadium is a must.

Car Park A was always really slow to exit, Car Park C is a lot better to get in and out of, but closing the A444/Jimmy Hill Way to the M6 for every game is going to be a nightmare. When they did this for the Birmingham game last season, the slow crawl up the Longford Road diversion was tortuous.

Going back to Jct 2 of M6 via Sewall Highway/Ansty Road looks the best option I think, but will still add at least 20 mins to the journey? I'd expect better marshalling to ensure pedestrians either use the tunnel to Car Park C or the footbridge and prevent crossing at the roundabout, but they've taken the option to inconvenience all those who pay a premium to park at the stadium. Frustrating is a big understatement 😡

People forget that Highfield Rd was nearly 20 years a go.
the days before council restrictions and profitering from motorists.
you can bet your bottom dollar that if we were still at hr now there would be no on street parking on match days and restrictions galore with residence parking restrictions etc.
The only good thing about hr was its close proximity to the town Ctr so public transport was easier
It’s a farce considering there’s a train station right next to the ground.

Slash the price of what?
It’s being batted around at £18 for match day parking. If people don’t pay it they will need to re-think it ✊ power to the people . UBER is cheaper if you’re a solo traveler or better still 4-5 people . They’re just taking the piss . Each to their own 🤦‍♂️

When I used to travel from outside the city I'd use Wayside Business Park. It's about a 20 minute walk to the stadium but you're straight out onto the motorway.

Why don't you try Parking near the Novotel, CV6 6HL, J3, M6, take the First Exit at the Roundabout, then it's just a 10 minute walk to the CBS past Dhillons Brewery.

Then after the game straight back onto the M6.

That’s where I’m parking now, it’s more like a 20 minute walk though.

I did start there years ago, but the walk put my grandson off (he's older now!) Was happy at Car Park C and already purchased the season ticket there, but these new road closures came after I renewed it. Will have to see how it goes for the rest of the year and reconsider next years options based on how it turns out.

Okay, I must be a quick walker then. 😎
You must be. Google maps puts the postcode at .9 miles / 20 mins, it’s taken me about that the couple of times I’ve done it. Still seems a good place to park although the true test will be after competitive games,

They have fucked it for people who come on two wheels which is a green alternative - no traffic jams no queues - will be writing to the club for them to put a secure motorcycle park in Car park C - fat chance I know but it will help me to reduce my anger

Well, they still have ICE. Plus if say 4-5 people come in one car, especially something small and economical or even electric/hybrid, and they instead all came individually on a bike would that be greener?

There is what is described as CBS Arena P1, and also this opposite Novotel, both off Wilson Lane. Not free but cheaper tha Car Parks A- C and the retail park.

I park in P1 £230 for the season and a 10 minute walk - bar and food in the car park as well

I think that's a private car park. The official, P2 I think, is the Industrial Estate off the island by Novotel.
Trying to find the guy who does this as it’s £50 cheaper than the official ones. Anyone know who this is?

Usually park at Tesco and buy a voucher but with the road closures now in place will look to avoid this. Shame as it was technically free parking. Just not worth the extra 40 mins on top of a 100 mile drive.

Just seen the post above with a phone number.

Think I am swaying towards parking at P1 - CTK. Anyone know if this usually sells out? Usually miss 2-3 home games with the travel so no benefit in paying the full £230 if it’s only £10 on a game by game basis.

It sometimes sells out, but not always. Sometimes you can rock up and pay but I wouldn't risk it. You can pre-book and it's best to book early before the away fans.
It's a big risk though, which is why we have a ST.

Thanks. I’m going to do it on a monthly basis in advance I think. Like I said, not much incentive for me to buy a ST. Would have considered had it been discounted.

Time spent in traffic jams negates the benefit 😉 also no road wear

Just had a survey through about match day travel, can't imagine things will change any time soon but at least they're thinking about it!

Interesting survey from the club today. If feasible, would I be interested in a free shuttle bus from my area.

Is this Doug's latest idea? I like it.

Don’t think I’ll get a shuttle bus from where I am but good to be able to give direct feedback to them about travel and parking issues. We’re getting so used to the club communications these days , that we forget what a vacuum it was under SISU at times We’re on the way up in so many ways
