Yes, I get that. If it kicks off I'd be surprised if he's not be eating tasers and facing ten years if he pulls that out and starts waving it around.

At the moment though there's no threat to anyone. Clearly over the weekend the rioters were actively seeking a violent confrontation, so it wasn't quite the same situation from a policing point of view.

no I thought this myself. Put the “EDL” guys up against the types seen on the Sky News video and they’ll get obliterated.

I absolutely get that you're not advocating it, but that would make things ten times worse of course. The best result here is what I think is going to happen, which is nothing.

The EDL scrotes are basically cowards, so they won't show, and I think there are enough mature, decent people at the mosques, to dissuade the wannabe gangsters and fuckwits from doing anything stupid. Here's hoping, anyway.

Ive apologised to TomRad85, it was mistaken identity as he says he clealry not a right wing **** and thanks for caring for others so much Grendull. I am perhaps kicking myself for not including you, GTT and quite a few others on here in my hastily drawn up original list. However probably doesn't achieve much and will refrain from doing any such character assasinations in future.

However I'm not going to stop calling out blatant (or in your case slightly more subtle) displays of racism and misogyny etc. though. It is not called for.

If you disagree just have the balls so say what you mean rather than cowardly trying to play incoherent mind games. You occasionally display a resemblance of intelligence and make occasional relatively decent alternative points in your rare moments of cohesion and clarity debating stuff when you are off the pop. Although you are becoming a bit of a delicate wall flower in your old age and I sense you are getting a bit niggly lately. Anyway I'll look forward to an obscure derisory comment about Rachel Reeves, Diane Abbott or Zara Sultana !

Because there are tens of thousands of Muslims (including women and children) dying in Gaza, Nick, and the impression that our government doesn't much care.

It's not directly related to the EDL, but it's obviously a trigger point for Muslims around the world. Flying a Palestinian flag shouldn't be seen as an implicit threat to anyone.

It makes little sense in some ways, but I suppose it's just become part of the uniform.

Seems to be very trendy these days to wave one.

Surprised the other side hasn't got a picture of Che Guevara.
